Age is a question of mind over matter, if you don't mind, it doesn't matter
Leroy (Satchel) Paige (1906-1982)
Mickey Mouse's girlfriend, Minnie, made her film debut, along with Mickey, in "Steamboat Willie" on November 18, 1928.
That date is recognized as her official birthday.
Very good, got us good and proper, top joke.
Can't see why it is embarrassing to want to be in a dance film, though, even to send a PM. It's not like it hasn't happened before. I ended up spending a very enjoyable 3 weeks as an extra on a film which I found out about on this forum (or, possibly, on the London forerunner); met lots of interesting people - including Shane Ritchie (with whom I did an impromptu duet of Crazy little thing called love, with tap dancing) and Joely Richardson - got paid £50 and a cordon bleu lunch in a double decker bus per day.
Tell me that doesn't sound like a larf?
The film, sadly, tanked. My relatives were gutted when it never showed up in their local emporium. (What do you mean, no they weren't?)
I had to learn to smoke, though, which was a bit of a bummer...
For your further entertainment: Paolo Lirf also wrote a piece in today's Guardian.
