Ceroc Breeze 2009 - dates moved to 2-4 October

It looks like Breeze is the latest Ceroc weekender to move its dates.

We appreciate the obvious inconvenience that this creates, but the change of date is unavoidable.

Ok, I'm really annoyed about this. I've only ever booked for two Ceroc weekenders and both Blush and now Breeze have changed the dates. Does anybody know the reason for the "unavoidable" date change? I am now also booked for Scorch and think I would have to seriously reconsider booking any further Ceroc weekenders if that date were to change too. Once I've booked leave at work it is not always easy or convenient to change it - I assumed that once I had paid my money (full whack there is no option to pay a deposit then the balance at a later date) the date would be fixed.

I'm not trying to start an argument I'm just really annoyed that this has happened again.

    Thanks for the heads-up David

I was going to book today (after finally sorting out who I was sharing with) and now need to check everyone's OK with the date change.

    Annoying I agree Jive-vee

I had actually booked for Breeze but it looks unlikey I can go now.
This does mean I can attend the Midlands Open Swing now though.

Too late to edit previous post but the more I think about this the angrier I feel. I absolutely agree with Jive-vee's post.

Ceroc decided to open the booking for Breeze exceptionally early, requesting full payment approximately 12 months in advance. If they do so then I feel they have an obligation to fulfil such dates, otherwise they should avoid announcing dates or opening booking until they are 100% sure they can honour their bookings. Ceroc not only have had my payment for a number of months, they have also received interest on that amount of money.

A lot of people have to make significant plans to be able to attend these weekends such as arranging annual leave which often cannot be changed, child care - which may involve annual leave of partners, travel plans - (often involving flights and possible costs that cannot be reimbursed), etc, etc.....

I in future will avoid booking so far in advance until a time I feel confident Ceroc can honour their bookings and commitments .

The Midlands Open Swing comp is now just the weekend before and I'm gonna be hard pushed to attend both but I'm already booked for Breeze and the Midlands Open Swing is just round the corner from me so I really don't want to miss that!

Have to say that I agree with those of you who are annoyed by this, although I've not booked. Ceroc need to be careful about the unreliable reputation they are creating for themselves. Am not sure how their business model works exactly, but presumably they must rely on getting some early bookings and payments. If people decide to book later to ensure that the date is set, it could seriously damage their cash flow.

However, the date move does mean that I might consider this one this time - couldn't on the previous dates as it clashed with my father's birthday.

Maybe it's been moved because it'll be warmer a week earlier.

Re: Ceroc Breeze 2009 - dates moved to 2-4 October

I am mightily upset too.... you do not know the problems I encounter to get leave for a weekender.
Breeze has been on my radar for quite a while, having been to all the previous Breeze events.

I have finally got the shifts swapped and leave organised for the weekend of the 9th and then you find out Ceroc have gone and moved it.

Why sell tickets, have booking website , advertise dates if it is not a confirmed date???

    Very annoyed

Very unlikely to be able to get the leave on the new dates... how bloody frustrating.

Re: Ceroc Breeze 2009 - dates moved to 2-4 October

I am just wondering if Ceroc plan on informing those who have booked individually as I have not received an email yet.

    Their website states:

"If you are unable to make the new date, please note that any cancellations made within the next 14 days will naturally be made without penalty. If you need to cancel, please email us at ceroc7@ceroc.com."

but have no idea how long that has been there.

Re: Ceroc Breeze 2009 - dates moved to 2-4 October

I booked at the beginning of Feb and got a direct email from them yesterday (25th) at 1pm. They've given everyone 2 weeks to cancel at full refund or if they don't hear, they assume the change of date is OK.

It seems a rather haphazard way of informing people - they've got no guarantee that the message has been received if they assume a non-response means you're OK with it.

Luckily it's OK for me and my roomies but I can imagine having had the bookings open for a couple of months, it's going to be a serious pain in the butt for a lot of people. The date must have been confirmed with Pontins long ago - you can't take over an entire holiday camp at a moment's notice. How come they've only just noticed they've got the wrong date?

    I am annoyed too.

In order to be able to take time off I need to get cover which is not always that easy and now I have to scout around again. The new date now ties in with a meeting that I should be attending on the Saturday too, so from thinking it was all lovely jubbly it's not....also as I have been booked in as part of a group I have obviously received no email at all from Ceroc and just noticed it via the forum!

Good point - it's only the lead name of course on the booking who will be informed. It then relies on that person informing the rest of the party. It's all a bit Chinese Whispers!

Sounds like Ceroc are doing a "Michael Jackson" to me.

Incidentally, I'd be amazed if Michael Jackson has any intentions of performing at the O2. The interest alone on all the tickets he's sold will keep him comfortable for the rest of his life. Just pay back the ticket money when he cancels and Bob's your uncle....interest free loan and money maker all rolled into one.

    Its unprofessional and unacceptable.

But, wot do they care really. They can get away with it. Ceroc are bigger than the average joe bloggs who gets hassle from these date changes.

Sad but true. I would be fuming also.

I got my email at the same time as Brighton Belle - just after 13:00 on 25th March, from "Ceroc ESCAPE" [ceroc7@ceroc.com].

I reckon some ISPs might have classified it as "Spam" or "Junk" email so it may be worth a look in your Spam/Junk folder?
