    P.S - Immigrants can be white[/quote]

I am Dutch, therefore I am white yet yes, I am an immigrant!!!!

I have been appalled and amazed in the past travelling with my (then) BF being stopped at customs time and again, whereas he is British, yet coloured, and I am white but the illusive immigrant between us...

    GGGGgggrrrr... It stupifies me...

AND I need stamps sometimes too, but so far no one has ever turned ME away (cos I guess I am the not so obvious white immigrant)

Cool Re: You speaky no english you no getty stampy

This guy has put in some effort and learned English so he can integrate into the society he has chosen to live in. He probably gets frustrated that others are lazy, so he thought he'd give them a nudge. I understand his sentiment, but the way he's gone about it is waaaaaaaaaay off base ironically for the values within the very society he's trying to be an active part of.

Far better would have been to start an English class for immigrants. He could have it at a local college in the evening. Maybe quite freakishly everyone who attended would be a different nationality, and therefore they would have their own stereotype. Much hilarity (canned laughter) would ensue. Does anyone remember the 1970's s[h]itcom Mind Your Language?

Sounds more like an episode of "my name is earl"

I do remember that programme and it still makes me cringe thinking about it

From the article about the polish shop:

    "Mr Bak, 23, added: 'It's a shock.

I haven't been able to eat a thing all day.' "
