    Portable ipod speakers

Please can anyone recommend some ipod speakers or an ipod speaker dock thing that's fairly portable and has really good sound quality?

I've been looking around for ages and I'm just completely boggled

I've got a Bose SoundDock (http://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/landing-...able/index.jsp), it was expensive but superb quality sound and I wanted something that would run on it's own battery for ages. I now have to fight my daughters just to get to use it myself.

A mate has the B&W Zeppelin (http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/display.aspx?infid=2466), even more expensive but looks and sounds great.

When I was looking to buy I stood in Tesco and browsed through the magazines (T3, Stuff etc and any hi-fi audio publications), they normally all have top-10 lists that are really good for giving you a short description and comparing between cost, quality etc. A link to one of T3's reports gives their top 10 for docks http://www.t3.com/features-gallery?articleId=7141.

I suppose it's horses for courses, depends what you want from it in terms of quality, portability etc

Have a look at the Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere - excellent portability and sound quality for under £100

Be careful if you have the newest Touch or Nano, the software on them is different and they won't charge on most of the dock stations. I've had a Bose for a just over a year and it worked fine with my old ipod but my new Touch and my husband's new Nano won't charge on it.

That's good, I took my Touch into a shop and tried it on all the systems that were there, it charged on 2 out of about 10. Maybe the Logitech was one of the successful ones.

One of the reasons why I got the new Bose. I've already got 2 other docking stations but they wouldn't play or charge the iPod Touch. Damn annoying. I've got a Harmon-Kardon Drive 'n Play in the car too and it doesn't charge the Touch (although it does play fine)

Yes I understand the newer Bose charges, but mine's only a year old so it's not worth changing just because of that. I bought a Griffin itrip for the car and that charges the Touch, it also finds the best station for you so you don't have to mess around searching the frequencies.

EDIT: Just looked up the Harmon-Kardon Drive 'n Play2, it looks very cool!!
