    Leroy (Satchel) Paige (1906-1982)

Mickey Mouse's girlfriend, Minnie, made her film debut, along with Mickey, in "Steamboat Willie" on November 18, 1928.
That date is recognized as her official birthday.

    Not at all.

Assuming that Franck does the same as he normally does....

Which is, you pay for what you want. If you just want to dance in the night, then that's all you pay for. If you want to do workshops, then you pay for those too.

That way, everyone has the choice of what they do....

If the teachers taught for free it shouldn't add to the cost at all. I'm willing to do a 3 hour intensive field based 'Shopping and Cross-Dressing Symposium'

Sorry Lynda. I don't understand quite what you mean....

Surely that was totally the idea. Getting to dance with other forumites???

that sounds like my idea of a gret weekend! I'm with you on that one, Andy. Put my name down. I'd be willing to share a room with someone too, to keep costs down.

That's not what you said last time, or maybe you're not talking about my dancing?

Workshops or no workshops, I think it is best to have the choice. Though assuming numbers won't be on the scale of the larger RBs, I don't think they need to be intensively timetabled. (ie not all day back to back).

Any time from early July suits us, but I realise costs will go up in the peak holiday season.

I make it about 2 minutes since your post, I reckon you must have had dozens of offers by now!

It was this bit I was commenting on :-

" I can get to even hope ..........

Maybe I read it wrong, but it sounded like the dances with other forumites would be a bonus and not main reason for the 'get-to-gether'

I like Franck's idea though wish they would adopt that down here

    Ah. Okie.

I think that Lynn was just commenting on the fact that she's quite new to the scene, and maybe would feel a little out of place.

But don't worry Lynn.... there will be plenty of other beginners there too (no, I'm not saying it ).

    Franck.
Never having been to the Perth venue and as we will be having the Aberdeen Beach for Feb and May I rather fancy the Perth choice.

Hey, I've actually got a job now so I can justify the weekend away!

    Can't wait

Yes, that's what I meant. My opportunities to learn and improve over here are limited, currently only beginner classes on offer, so I love any opportunity to learn as well as dance. And therefore I would be able to dance that little bit better, with other forumites in the evening, if I had been to a workshop or two in the afternoon!

And yes, I do feel a bit like a 'toddler' still (that's referring to my level of dancing, not my dancing style!!!). But I'm still game to jump on a plane and come over and join in as best I can!

Lynn, not sure how much this will/might help, but it's an old posting by The Oracle, I've found it very useful...even if I do forget the moves once the music starts

    Hi Lynn,

Even better ... come over on the thursday afternoon so you can go to the thursday night class in Edinburgh. Then you would have 3 days of dancing, plus a days sightseeing in Edinburgh!

I'm sure we could find someone to show you around, get you a lift to the weekend venue etc. (I will if I'm about that weekend)

    Ian
