I've been in Coventry and Derby today, and the snow has melted a fair bit since yesterday - roads are almost clear of snow except a few sad dirty lumps at the roadside. A little more around estates but it's still easy enough to keep tyres on tarmac. Some flurries of light snow in Coventry this morning, but nothing lasting.
    Love dance, will travel

Doncaster - clear of snow on main roads.. estates still very bad and very icy.. got to work all week on public transport / walking if necessary but Sheffield is still very bad... ankle deep in snow / ice in lots of places esp on hills where hospital is where i work... not risked taking car out yet as i hate driving in the stuff... at least i have my monthly travel pass tho so am enjoying trains and leisurely journeys for the time being

A few days ago there was a band called "The Jive Aces" playing for an hour outside my store. Although not many people stood around and watched due to the wet weather.

It's snowing again here in the Pentlands. This will be the fourth layer of snow without a thaw.

Our washing machine sits in the detached wooden garage in our garden across the road. I haven't been able to use it for 10 days as the water supply has frozen (despite the pipes being well lagged). I'm so lucky to have generous friends and neighbours who have helped us stay clean and fresh-smelling, so shall manage be there on Tues night in clean clothes .

It is snowing really hard and fast here in Lancashire, so much so I have put off going to Manchester tonight to Tango, and my family left early from their visit today. Snow.... nice to look at but it causes too much disruption don't like it

Snowing hard yet again here in Northants - have had to call off yet another dance evening. Getting really annoyed by this whole snow thing now. Warm spring sunshine anyone?

Throwing it down here now so, as I live in the back and beyond that isn't gritted, my return to dancing is postponed and I'm off to the pub quiz instead

Didn't quite expect the sudden blizzard that descended on Berko last night. It was clear all the way until I hit the Town Hall and then the skies opened...luckily it rained after and it cleared during the rest of evening and getting home was fine but wish it would stop it's not fun anymore

My God, we get a few days of snow and it's all doom and gloom. I love it when it snows...I've got a cast iron reason to skive work cos the weather man told me "only to travel if absolutely necessary". Roll on the next blizzard, can't wait to get the sledge out.

Have been trying to gauge the weather forecast from the various websites without any joy. They nearly all contradict each other.

The best one, and most reliable, that I have found has been the actual met office weather site at www.metoffice.gov.uk

    It's updated super regularly!

Driving between Cambridge and Stansted on the M11 last night and there was a heavy snow storm. Bearing in mind that I drive a small, lightweight car with puny tyres, I didn't have any difficulty driving at all. I was amazed to see at least 6 cars facing the wrong way on the hard shoulder or up the embankment and 1 car wedged into the central reservation!
The snow had barely started settling FF.s! Where do all these useless drivers come from?

I see where you are coming from but when it interferes with my dancing plans I'll say again it's no fun...I just have to stay in and get on with the boring stuff

Guess what - it's snowing yet again here, something of a blizzard in fact. Just had to drive home in it. Really looking forward to having to dig the car out yet again tomorrow - only had to do it 5 times in the last week so one more time will be just as much fun if not more - bring on the morning, lots of lovely snow, woop! woop!

Its been raining hard here all day and there's HUGE puddles everywhere. The brook near me is almost to the top of the banks. But the snow has almost vanished.

I'm really hoping that it stays away, as I really don't need any hassle getting around this week.
