Yes, I see weather reports, but....

    *** is actually happening?!?!?

The reports seem inconsistent with real life. So, my Q is this:

where are U? How is the snow? What are the implications?

    Thank U.

btw, Fife, housebound, but sunny outside with no snowfall.

....well - yes - check out Traffic Scotland's web-cams - some pretty snow photos around! Several of my colleagues in Aberdeen can't get home as roads closed and grid lock for miles around the area... not what you want on a Friday afternoon! I decided to not attempt by 160+ mile round-trip commute from still sunny Dundee and glad I did!

    Have a nice week-end :-)

Buckingham - several inches of snow and a very slushy road that'll turn into an ice rink later

Near Northampton snow minimum of 9 inches deep and a foot or more in lots of places, and that's just in the garden. Going to be really icey for the next few days so all but the main trunk roads and motorways will be very dodgy.

Cardiff - hardly any snow, and what there was went away pretty quickly!

Just as long as the M4 corridor stays snow-free now until after Tuesday evening. And no snow on the runways either please!

Finchley - otherwise known as The London (North) Car Park this morning.

Light snow, now sleet, horrible slushy stuff underfoot.

Been to work every day this week, Chesham to Aylesbury commute. A bit entertaining and slow perhaps, but it's not seemed a big disaster. Outside now the Aylebury traffic looks normal, clear but wet roads. I'm still hoping to go dancing in Peterborough tonight..

Shoreham by Sea (Nr Brighton). Raining, wet and no snow at all. The odd, nearly melted, snowman looking very sad

South Bedfordshire: gentle snow all day long has now stopped. Main roads gritted and reasonably clear. Side roads treacherous. The mush will freeze when the temperature drops overnight, so beware the early hours and tomorrow before midday.

West Wilts - first snowfall was on Monday, still snowing when I left at 1 PM today to drive to Gatwick. Approx 10 inches over the week and slippery as hell when it froze every night.

Tonight I am in West Sussex - slush, sleet, rain, but no ice and can finally go dancing tonight in Crawley after 8!!!!!!!!!! days without. YYeayyyyy!

Durham. Cold and dry, light icing-sugar dusting of snow this morning, mostly gone now. There's been very virtually no snow on the ground since Monday.

Re: Yes, I see weather reports, but....

Middle of nowhere just outside Banbury. On top of what was already left from yesterday, after last night and this morning's snow we ended up with about a foot of snow.

Even our rural road was (unusually) gritted, but that didn't stop the snow settling so didn't head out for work for the second day. My OH spent the morning towing cars out of dips/off hills (he's a farmer) including on of our lodgers. We also had a tractor with snowplough go past, but it's still lethal on the back roads, with the 4WDrives still sliding all over the place.

Work is nr Thame, but colleagues from Leamington got stuck on the M40 which was closed near Banbury, and another one couldn't get to Thame off the M40 from the south. Banbury was also cut off from the M40 junction at one point.

I'm just praying we don't get more on Sun/Mon as have customer meetings I really need to get to.

Re: Yes, I see weather reports, but....

Letchworth- at least 6/7 inches of snow, ice and snow non stop, school hs been closed every single day apart from wednesday also have been to work only 3 times this week, monday the shop closed at 4 and again sadly, today the shop closed at 4. We didn't make much of a profit either yesterday, when the shop was open as normal.

iv only been out with my friends in the snow, once this week. I got a numb face from one of my so called friends lobbing me in the face with a snowball but that was soo cured after a nice warm, hot chocolate in a coffee shop

but now the snow needs to stop, its getting beyond a joke now.
