Nice fluffy slow swirling down, when I woke around noon, in Hackney lasting half an hour.

    AND the sun was shining!

    Terrible wind.

Think it's the coldest day outside so far this winter for me personally.

A pathetic 2 minutes flurry here on The Essex/East London Borders, certainly not worth getting excited about.

A touch out my way (Banbury), but only for a few minutes.

Really not looking forward to any more as I didn't bring my work laptop home and can't afford to be snowed in. Plus getting snowed in will really muck up my dancing plans for the week.

Yep, we've now had some snow too. Didn't fall for long, but already settled. Not boding well for overnight and tomorrow.

    Re: The big snow event

Interesting message from Ceroc Greenwich about Bow sent out today:

We have seen the forecast of bad weather in London and the surrounding areas over the next few days.
To prevent anyone making unnecessary journeys and to remove the uncertainty, if there is settled snow in London tomorrow up until about 6pm then we will not be opening the Bow venue.
If you are unsure please call Dan or Kelly before you travel to check.
Thanks and hopefully, we will have no snow and see you all tommorow.
    take are and be safe.
Quite impressed at the socially responsible attitude

    Re: The big snow event

Very heavy snow here in Staines still. Many major routes have snow cover now (including M25). Much more to come through the early morning too.

Another swathe of persistant snow is expected later today (Mon), initially in the SE, but moving north to affect the Midlands, and particularly areas east of the Penines.

There is also a further risk of disruptive snowfall for late Wed into and through Thur for many areas.

    Stay safe

Further to my last, expect extensive travel disruption today (Mon), and possibly throughout the rest of the week.

    Re: The big snow event

School is shut! However, school closure policy states that all staff who can get to their place of work should do so - this is implicit in their conditions of service. Well I think that rules me out, I'm not driving 38 miles to work in this weather.

It then goes on to state that it the weather conditions are so bad that they cannot make thier normal journey to school staff should report to their local school! What a shame that one is shut too!

Just a shame I am wide awake now!
