Here is the "Who's Going Where?" thread for the weekend of 16th/17th/18th January 2009.
---------------------------------------------
How it works:
- Suggest events you personally are interested in attending, in the form "Day - Event - Location".
For example: "Sat - Perth Party (Ceroc Scotland) - The Hangar (Perth, Scone airport)"- The moderators will put these suggestions into a poll - usually around Tuesday.
Note: The poll may include extra options without event details (usually called "Spare", "Space" etc.) which allow the mods to add events in order after the poll is created - but only if no-one's voted on them. So, please ...er... don't vote on them.- People vote, we can all see who's going where, and the indecisive amongst us can decide where to dance.
Note: no advertising: The forum rules about advertising apply - these polls are not meant to allow organisers / crew / friends to advertise events. The moderators will remove any such posts.

Fri - Meltdown - Cheshunt
and thinking about
Sat - IJIG - Hatfield
Haven't been there before. Anyone out there who would recommend it, or otherwise ? As I will be be spending two nights at Chiswick next weekend for Swinging the Blues, I thought it might be a good idea to try somewhere else this week.
iJig Hatfield is brill.........the tops.
Let me give you a taste (all of the following may be attractive to you - except one - see if you can guess which):
1. Nice hall (in some ways more atmospheric than St. Albans) - perhaps about the same size-ish
2. Floor is taken good care of by the crew and is usually on the faster side
3. Jon Brett on the decks..........the best (apart from Robin's Ice Set ). 'Nuff said.
4. Tends to attract top dancers from all around so you get a good mix.
5. Serve teas coffees - and if I remember correctly, baps (of the edible variety) - eg. cheese, ham etc....
6. An outdoor area where you can hang out (although I expect it might be too cold!)
7. IJig branded deoderants etc in the rest rooms
8. JiveLad sometimes makes an appearance
So all in all - highly recommended.
I'm late doing this - but been away since last week - hoping a mod can add this option
Fri - Red, Hot & Blue - Edinburgh
Seriously toying with IJIG at Hatfield - bit of a treck but needs must and there isn't really much else on offer.
DTS and I may be going to Stevenage on Sat - its a bond theme night - God only knows what costumes may appear
Friday - RHB - Broxburn - as long as I shake this damn cough
Sun - Blues - Edinburgh - depending on how late my firends birthday goes on in Glasgow on Saturday night!
We're off to Jag Jive in Great Bookham on Sat, an email from John informed me that most of the places have gone already!
Can't wait, the atmosphere, people, and music there are always top-notch. Well worth the 150-mile round trip from Wilts
