I've been out training every night this week, but progress is slow as I pushed myself too hard on Monday night and pulled a muscle in my leg.
I'm still managing to do 2.5 k every night at just over 20 minutes. I'd like to get that to under 20 minutes next week, fingers crossed.
Well, we did it! Me and Trouble did our 5K Race for Life last night and managed to jog all the way (slowly) in 48 minutes!
Michele almost didn't make it at all as she managed to walk into a bin the size of a fat Darlek and nearly knock herself out just before the start of the race and I nearly fainted from laughing so much...but we got through it and managed to raise well over £500 for Cancer Research UK.
We will definitely be doing it again. It was really inspiring to be running with so many people who had been affected by cancer or who had family affected or who had died from it, but what really spurred me on was knowing that so many lovely forumites, some of which I've never even met, dug deep and sponsored me on line. Thank you so much for your support. At 4.5K I was struggling, but I just had to keep going because I didn't want to let you or myself down (not to mention, Trouble was practically dragging me to the finish line)
I'll post some photos soon. If anyone else can spare a few quid, here's the link.
Thank you.
Well done girls!
Brilliant!
Here's a few pics...

How about the 2010 club so we can start again?
Jan 1st 2009 = 18st 12lbs
April 1st = 17st 1lbs
Dec 2nd (My 40th) = 14st 10lbs and still going
Total weight loss for 2009 so far = 4st 2lbs
I just looked at what I ate, and cut out Bread, cut down on dairy (milk, butter) & caffine. Began fast walking to work 30 mins AM & PM (Still going!), drinking 2 litres water p/day
Most importantly not eating after 9pm! If I feel hungry, I'll have a bowl of cereal.
And of course Dancing!!!
I wanted to get back to a healthy, acceptible weight and I haven't crash dieted, in fact I haven't dieted at all, just took a look at my consumption and cut back, made sensible adjustments and it's working. Am not scared of putting a few lbs on over the festive period as I know I'll be back on the routine in Jan.
Shortly after I'd posted this, I found out my Mum had Cancer and every goal I'd set myself went straight out of the window
Now, reflecting on this year, I've learnt a lot about myself... I'm completely crap at any form of self discipline when I'm worried or anxious and I definitely 'comfort eat'
As a result, I've gained a shed load of weight and the (almost fanatical) exercise regime I was doing in 2008 (2 hours, 5-6 x a week), has gone down to a half hearted once or twice a week
And I feel HORRIBLE!
Anyway.. the BRILLIANT news is, my Mum's doing very well ATM So, there really is no excuse but I've decided not to start again properly, until the new year, as I know I'll only let myself down if I try to start now.
So, I'm up for it again come 2010

Me and scales have never really got on that well - this year we seem to have just drifted even further apart. Perhaps we can be reconciled in 2010.
