Why don't we have a forum gathering at 9pm on Friday, like we usually do?

    Perhaps in Jaks?

I think coz they can be a bit hit and miss, depends on who's there at the time were not sure of the site of traveling what time people are arriving. maybe thats why

More of an issue than the mixed camp IMO could be the isolation of the different venues. I don't think I have been to a dance weekender before where it was not possible to move between the principal freestyle venues without venturing outdoors (the dance den/marquee at Southport notwithstanding) Whether this will encourage a silo mentality remains to be seen though my choice of preferred venue is likely to be determined by the quantity of bar staff available

Ooooh, I'm getting so excited about this weekend now! I'm spending today packing and baking!

The only thing is that I'm hoping the weather will get slightly better....... We've got about 2 inches of snow in Dundee this morning, and it's still coming down thick and fast, so driving all the way to Skeggie might be..... Interesting?

I agree - I think the silo mentality (nice phrasing) will be in effect.

On the other hand - Breeze was like that, wasn't it? And everyone seemed to enjoy that one...

Ok, I got a little bit confused when I looked at my usual weekender shopping list.

On my list is an array of thigs fit for a PONTINS weekender. You know, bed, pillows, bio-hazard suit and so on.
Now that it's at a nicer venue, by all accounts, I am not sure what to pack!

    Decisions decisions

Hope everyone has a safe journey tomorrow. There is snow forecast for skegness today but the forecast for tomorrow is sunny and 5 degrees. That should hopefully shift any lying snow. Hopefully.

Well, my packing list still has hot water bottle and fleecy blanket on it - I never go to a weekender without them! Oh, and some cakes. Yes. There might just be some cakes. Especially as my plans for today are somewhat hindered by all the snow, so I will have ALL DAY to bake!

    Cake, anyone?

Good spot (my memory is obviously not what I remember it to be ) and, yes, Breeze 2007 was like that. Breeze 2006 didn't venture out of the main complex (some line event in Lunars IIRC) I didn't do Breeze 2008.

I don't recall leaving the Lunar room much in Breeze 2007, as much through inertia as anything, so it may be a similar story at Skegness.

I loved your cakes at SP, Little Monkey.

Don't think CJ is going, so should be plenty to go around.

Re: Jive addiction - skegness feb weekender

Im trying to get my head round the thing about sharing with muggles.

As JA are taking over several venues on-site, Arthurs, Jaks and Reds, surely they have to allow non-dancers into one or two of them? I just find it hard to imagine those that do not dance - you know, strange people - having huge swathes of real estate off limits to them.
Especially in Jaks which, according to the booklet, is open for music practically 24 hours.*

Im sure whatever the setup is though it will be good if past experiece is anything to go by.

Really looking forward to it now.

*interesting that Jaks music during the day is "DJ's choice". Good that the DJs are fixed though. At least we know who to put pressure on

    I doubt it.

I'll book when I get there. I Like to see the facilities first. £15 for 2 hours in the pool, sauna, etc. I'll have a look first, make sure it's not overrun with screaming brats and spotty teenagers.

Butlins in SkegVegas has two sites. One is the main site with Chaletes and the other is a static caravan. If you look at the map here -> http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&so...27466&t=h&z=15

You can see Butlins Caravan park on one side of the Road and The main Complex on the other.

Maybe the Caravan park should have been booked so some people could use the Hotshots Bar http://www.butlinscaravansatskegness...rtainment.html
