    Best Xmas Present's EVER

Now then now then now then.

I have bought Batgirl an English Longbow.

Proper one mind, with serious arrows etc.

just waiting for the end of the world now and a couple of me neighbours will be the 1st up against the wall. They will end up like a Hedgehog.

Anymore stunning bloke like pressies you girlies have, or going to have.

A mate of mine bought his wife a set of car mats......She was ungreatfull, wanted chocolates, or some such sh1t.

Honestly women!!!!! Can't live with them, cant shoot them in the head without getting into trouble.

I will tell you now boys, everything started to go tits up when they were given the vote....Never been the same since.

To be honest its the thought that counts with presents. But if someone doesn't like the present then give it back to the person and ask them if they've kept the receipt so it won't be a waste.

I've already opened a few presents but theres more presents to come my way

Can she actually draw it, let alone string it? Those things originally required about 400lbs of force to draw back - that's like lifting a 28 stone man with one arm.

Well I will do the stringing, this bow is a 50lb draw weight.

About 150lbs is the limit for a trained archer with years of strengh training behind him.

Althought I am no Robin Hood my natural tendancy is to squeeze of a shot.

I've done this on holidays and I'm quite good at it, although I always end up with a massive bruise on the top of my arm, that string flippin' well hurts when it snaps back!

I prefer riffle shooting though! I don't know why but much to the amazement of everyone, including me, I seem to be a complete natural when it comes to using weapons ... worrying huh?

Can't you see - Dave is merely winding you up something rotten. I am sure he has already purchased you several dream presents and is even now wrapping then up beautifully and adding some gorgeous ribbon. It's what scaffolders do. just humour him and say you are sure that a long bow will come in very handy, how thoughtful etc etc.

Sounds fantastic - I had a go with one this summer and thought it was brilliant! -They even had a black rubber boar for us to shoot at. I got bruised too, though apparently if you're shooting completely straight it shouldn't happen...

It's not got anything to do with shooting straight or not, my dear, so I'm sure you were doing fine. It's got to do with twisting your elbow out of the way, which is a funny little technique that keeps your arm out of harm's way. I used to get bruised when I was in the archery club at uni, until some kind soul told me this!
