I would prefer more <insert here> MJ nights

Following on from the Fancy Dress night poll I thought I'd annoy David Bailey even more by asking a similar question

What's missing on the MJ circuit...

opp, took so long over poll, can't edit my post...

Poll is not anon, poll is multiple choice.

If anyone has anything to add, feel free to ask a mod to add, sure I've forgotten something...

I would prefer more Saturday nights when there is only 1 freestyle in my local area. I'd rather have 4 good Saturdays in every month, rather than 2 or more diluted ones.

I'd like to see more mid-week freestyles.

I sppreciate the numbers would/may be less than a weekend night, but I'm sure it could still be viable in some areas.

Sunday afternoon chill out session, Ceroc London used to hold them at Ashtons, would be really good if they could be resurrected

Also because I’m in a greedy mood, I would like more freestyles incorporating a blues room . Berko have a blues room every Sunday and it's always popular

    And Friday nights.

I can't understand why Ceroc franchises can't co-ordinate. We quite often get the absurd situation that Ceroc Metro put on a freestyle at their most northern venue (Stevenage) and Ceroc Central in their most southern (Letchworth), on the same night and the veneus are only a few miles apart.

However since I have taken up Tango this is no longer a problem. There are classes with practicas in St Albans and Clapham Junction if you are interested.

Me too, but I would prefer more weekend Freestyles too.

This weekend there in London there is nothing on. The nearest Freetyle is Moonglow, Watford. I might go as I fell asleep last night and missed Fulham.

Chimes has gone, Ashtons Bump and Hustle has gone.

What has happened to the new monthly Friday Bump and Hustle at Wembley?

    Limehouse has gone.

Big Phat Friday has gone from Ealing.

There's the Jivenation thing, in Ealing - but yes, you're right, it's generally much more quite on weekends in London now.

    I wonder why that is?

But the floor resealing went wrong. I have not heard yet whether it has been done again properly yet.

Also, the Casbah floor is tardy. They are having AC installed to combat the stickiness.

Ashtons was due to be demolished.

    Chimes was carpeted over.

The vicar at Limehouse won't give up his carpet, as was hoped.

Fridays at Brent Town Hall, Wembley Anyone know if they are to be back again in the New Year?

Nope. The council put the hire charge up too high to make it feasible. Shame, as it is a lovely venue.

    Aw, that's a shame.

I suppose that hiring venues in London on Friday and Saturday nights is too expensive.

At present ceroc uses on weekends - usually monthly

    HMS President (sun)
The Putney Club (private members club) (sat)
    Hammersmith Town Hall "
    Chiswick Town Hall "
Casbah - Boy Scouts (fri) - weekly

Have I forgotten some? Surely there must be more.

Greenwich Community centre - (sat) occasionally
    Slinky's - Greenwich Town hall - once a year

    Finchley - (sat)

I'm not the most discriminating person when it comes to floor condition, but I would say the Ealing floor is fine these days. (The period when it was horribly slow only lasted a couple of months I think - not sure whether they fixed it or it just got worn back to a more reasonable finish with use).

There's really only one thing I'd like more of ... Freestyles in Glasgow. In particular, a Sunday Tea Dance.

    Oh what a disappointment.

One of my local class nights advertised on UK-Jive that tonight was going to be a freestyle night with just a short class at the beginning. "Count me in" thought I.

Then an email arrives from the organiser announcing that there will be 2 fun lessons (so, just another class night then). Count me OUT!

I used to love the 'fun classes' at Freestyles, and would rush to get there early.

I never do them now though.

It all depends on how long you've been dancing, whether you are male or female etc.,

My point is, that it's a class night, not the tempting mid-week bonus freestyle portrayed by the first advert.
