    Sorry, yes I understand now.

Maybe some people complained about losing class time.

    Different strokes for different folks.

I find it even stranger when you consider that almost all the regular (meaning weekly) Tango Milongas seem to be Central London based.

Why is it that they can find venues and MJ can't.

Ceroc must be losing their best dancers in London.

Some weekends when there's nothing on, it's either drive great distances to MJ, stay at home, go to the pub or go to Tango, Ballroom or WCS.

Totally agree with Maxine. Dual rooms is the way to go, or freestyles with specialist music as long as it's made reasonably clear what the specialism is going to be.
And more Saturday night events, can't be doing with the motorways on Fridays.
MJ/tango events might be good, hard though it is to imagine the grafting of two polar opposites.

I would actively avoid any freestyle that involved any foodstuffs more serious than a slice of Battenberg, also anything where the dress code obliged me to make any mental effort whatsoever.

But then, hey ho, these days I actively avoid freestyles of just about any kind.

Maybe MJ organisers have a stricter list of specifications than tango organisers, in terms of size of venue, standard of accommodation, facilities, parking etc. Just a thought.

Most do - although it's noticeable that some organisers who are willing to be more flexible in things like venue size (e.g. JiveNation) have absolutely no problem in finding dance places, with great club-like atmospheres, right in the heart of Central London.
