I prefer the pre-Captain Scarlett old style: "Roger - and out".

Especially since he uses it inconsistently, since although you = U it is quite clear from his posts that your ≠ Ur.

It would be nice if this thread resulted in a collective consensus.
    What's a collective consensus?
Is it the same as consensus of opinion?

    4) if your arguments are poorly constructed, they are often misinterperetated (if read at all) and are not usually helpful to the ongoing debate

    6) discussing an emotive subject on this forum will sometimes ignite people's defensive/aggressive tendencies and the debate will get lost. Grammar is one such subject

So, building upon such a strong foundation of knowledge... can I please ask that we, as a collective, try our best to make our posts understandable, coherent and in English?

    Thank U.
And the above also applies to bad spelling

Sorry CJ, I really tried but couldn't hold it back

If a consensus of opinion means we all agree to the same thing, then that is not what I meant.

I was trying to say that we all have different views some very diverse but could we find a way of blending those different and diverse views in a way that every reasonably held view was accommodated and allow for a reasonably happy outcome for all.

Not sure you invented it CJ, because it did appear in a post on a DIY forum earlier this year - by a forumite there called 'Mini1961', who wanted some advice on cupboards and sagging shelves, see

    http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=118023

The actual post is further down and goes:

Posted: Sun Jan 06, 2008 12:34 pm Post Subject:
Thanks again i think my explination is being misinterperetated, let me explain further, the fitted cupboard's are stud work plasterboarded both sides formed at 600mm deep and full ceiling height 2400mm with an opening formed for sliding mirrored door on tracks, the doors are 2150mm high, does this help

So to clarify wardrobe internaly 600mm deep by 2400mm in height sliding door height 2150mm and mdf shelf @ 400mm deep,

    Thanks again

    Mini1961

So I suspect that CJ was doing some DIY and stumbled upon this post, and the word became embedded, as it does have a certain onomatopoeiac quality.

    Time to lie down methinks.....

PS It seems from the thread, that the sagging shelves were solved by an 'intermediate upright' - courtesy of a forumite called 'Bespoke'
