Re: Dusk Till Dawn The aftermath

I had a great time - loved the funkier music that was played. Put a few more names to faces, had lots of lovely dances and didn't really sit down/stop all night The only problem was my cunning plan to get the first train home but that was easily sorted thanks to my lovely friend and thanks to other forumites that offered help/sympathy haha.

Would I do it again? Definitely - I'll dance anywhere I can get to and home from haha and the dances I had were well worth the trek

A really good night - just a pity the plugs got pulled early.

Now you have pointed it out I remember. Was in the top corner near the entrance. Didn't know it was you though and was having on off hour (starving at that point)

Oh that's easy..you just click the button. Every keyboard has one, on the top left.

Re: Dusk Till Dawn The aftermath

I had a great time at this event and for me, it was well worth the trip.

I thought the two classes at the beginning had been well thought through to enable those who had never attempted dancing at an event like this to feel like they at least had a few tools to use.

I love dancing in the early hours and apart from weekenders rarely get the opportunity so I say well done to the guys who had the courage to make it happen.

The evening was well organised and the venue lent itself well to the occasion, although personally it felt a little too brightly lit to achieve that 4am Blues feeling i enjoy, but I doubt whether the organisers could have affected this differently, it was a peculiarity of the venue.

It was massively disappointing for all concerned the way the evening finished and my heart went out to those who had put heart and soul into delivering what they promised - but everyone accepted it as an irritation, not as a night spoiling event. I would have preferred not to have seen the discussion between organiser and venue manager become so public but it encouraged me to leave promptly so perhaps it was all to the good!

I had some awesome dances and lots of laughs, loved the music and the concept, and was really glad I went. I do hope that a new venue can be found and I will certainly make a point of trying to be there if a similar event is organised.

    to all concerned.

Yes, people that were there when proceedings stopped early were disappointed but I think to a man (or woman) nobody took Rocky up on his offer for a refund. Like me they all said what a fantastic night and it would be taking the pee to accept a refund.

    snip

Let me tell you Val, it did not and the night for me ranked right up there with some of the best dance experiences I have had.
    absolutely right
everybody i spoke to were still buzzing when we were being chucked out by the venue owners after a really great night out
where else can you get 11 hours of fun for £16

All i can say is UTOPIA Crew please do another one somewhere that is perhaps more dance friendly

i must admit it might be a conspiracy theory but.. makes me wonder if the venue owners thought we wouldnt still be there after 4 am so they wouldnt have had a problem with the licence
Afaik they didnt tell the utopia team until 5 am that they didnt have a licence to dance after 4 what was that all about
