    Fashionista Follies

    Are you a fashion slave?

I read that the new hip winter footwear in New York City is the Wellington!

They found that riding boots have slippy soles and the UGGs get wet.

(has anyone danced in riding boots?)

The biker boot is hip in London, apparently.

not so much fashionista as practicality living on a farm, I kind of live in wellies at home. (although if anyone knows where I can buy nice plain coloured wellies for people with fatter calves do let me know, as I've only found garish patterned ones- don't want to scare off the cattle!)

Those green ones are the real Mc coy to match the landrover.

    Probably available at Hacketts.

Are wellies comfy Emmylou? I haven't worn them since I was a child, when I used to live in the countryside too.

How about these, are they garish enough? They are fur lined too, I love 'em. Everyone knows who I am when I am walking the dog ....would suit Zebra Woman but didn't know her size!

You can't beat the original Hunter green wellies for mucking out horses on cold dark winter mornings, at least they stay on your feet when you're trying to free yourself from the quagmire around field gates after turning said neddie out!!

Wouldn't like to dance in them though.....now, leather riding boots? You might be able to dance in them as they are smooth-soled (well, mine are) but they'd be bloody hot

Better than I remember when I was a kid. And my current ones don't give me blisters like my walking boots (although not tried either for dancing!)

Now I like those, but think my OH would have a fit if I turned up in those! Maybe I could find some with a cow type print on...mmm a bit of research required.

    Re: Fashionista Follies

I just tend to browse and hunt around and I do look at fashion now and then but I just like weird colours and stuff that stands out.

If its in fashion its all good, if it isnt who cares?

I have the same problem with my calves and find that the people that make hunter wellies also make Huntress wellies that suit the wider calf

Yes, seen those but need to try on as they're also shorter in the leg I think I saw (shame there's only 2 colours in them though).

OOOOH i love the look of a biker boot.. especially when accompanied with leather trousers, fitted to the wearers bottom, and a leather jacket.

A nice shiny helmet helps too.

I don't think those are riding boots Philsmove as they have laces.

Unless Australians riding boots are different?

Occasionally I have seen women wearing boots on London dancefloors - are they hot (as in temperature wise)?

And don't forget Fletch's famous red boots.

I thought Fletch might come on here and give us some fashion tips.

We also have a fashion buyer on the forum - sorry forgot her name.

While i'm off the dance circit for a bit, i'm going to use my time productivaly and have a 'clear out' about time, I bet there loads of stuff i'v forgot I have.

Well assuming I can do it, i'm going to have a bash on ebay

With the credit crunch Xmas and two children a few extra ££ could come it handy, my first item of

IMO fashion is very indervdual, I dress for me (shock)

and its not my place to tell people what to wear my way isn't the right way just my way, but if someone asked me for my opinion on an item or what to wear I would tell them.

honestly, Kindly, not in front of others

thank you for your comment, i'm well chuffed, does that mean i'm not mutton dressed as lamb or does it look Ok on me don't answer that, we can leave that comment to the Expert's Yes those two style icons Tranny and Suzannah

    That's the best way.
Most women, contrary to popular opinion, dress to impress other women - not men. Sorry you men.

As you have a perfect figure you can wear any fashion that comes along.

Obviously some one with bad legs will look daft in a mini skirt whatever their age.

I'm too tall to wear heels for dancing. (My legs look ok in heels) Plus heels affect my balance.
Some women have to wear heels as they are short or have thick ankles.
I've got skinny ankles so flat shoes don't suit my legs - look a bit like Olive Oil.
Any suggestions so I can wear dresses and skirts?
