My son took his very first Ceroc class tonight - at Ceroc Oxford in Berkhamstead.
If any forumites go there please make him welcome and help him please.
He has just got in and is trying to show his partner what he did, hopefully she will start going too. He really enjoyed it and said he will go back next Wednesday.
I can't wait to see him now, so he can practice on me.

No .......... it is Ceroc Oxford - it is the nearest one to where he lives
I was surprised too, they must be on the boundary of their franchise

Sadley not mine. My kids have got great rythmn and when they 'handbag' dance they are fab but have no wish to take it to partner dancing. My daughter tried Tango with me once, and she was really good but didn't want to take it any further. She also tried a bit of MJ but felt really self conscious about it. My mum was a really good dancer, entered comps in her day and showed me how to follow. My sis came dancing with me a couple of times and could follow really well, but hasn't caught the bug like me.
The funniest thing though, my beautiful little man hears any kind of music and he bobs his little body, boogies those little legs and smiles like a little angel, just knows how to look cute all the time. His dad, [my son] says I have to encourage him to dance and he will encourage him to play football. I do think that there is a dancing gene in the family though and perhaps, maybe I might be in with a chance there to advance the dancing bug for another generation. Will be fun trying
if you love the life you live then you'll get a lot more done

My Dad was a well respected social ballroom dancer in his youth, until recently both my Mum and Dad were regularly doing square dancing.
My older brother used to be an officer on the QE2, as an officer he was expected to mingle and dance with the passengers, so he learnt ballroom dancing, and later Ceroc (he became a taxi dancer in Derby and also came to a Camber weekender with me).
My son has been dancing MJ for over 3 years now, since he was 16 (we often go to dance events together).
My daughter can dance MJ, she is not keen on lessons as she finds them too slow, she prefers to target the advanced leads and have a fun boogie in freestyle time.
Well, they do say it often skips a generation, so here's hoping
My Dad was also a dancer in his youth - my parents met at ballroom dancing classes, so there is a certain irony that Beo and I met through this forum, the 21st century version, even if he doesn't really dance at the moment. My Dad won some Latin American competitions as well, although when I ask him about it, he goes all coy and says it was just that his partner was so brilliant. Always the gent my Dad!
My eldest thinks dancing is for poofs. so can't get him to go.
My youngest is desperate to have a go but he is only 6 so early days yet. Im keeping my fingers crossed that he will get into it so when im old and incontinent he wont mind draggin me along with my tenalady.
I was going to correct you on this, but you already did it (good job I read on before posting!). Hope your son enjoyed it - if he ever gets to any of the Oxford venues or to their freestyles I'll probably see him there.
In terms of family, as Twirly says it must skip a generation in my family at least on my dad's side as both my gran and grandad did a lot of ballroom dancing and jive, with my grandad still dancing now in his 80s...I always say dancing keeps people young so here's hoping for me.
I've given up trying to persuade my husband to come dancing with me so at the mo it's just me on his side of the family who dances
My daughter goes dancing with us...........but she is strictly rock n roll only. (she's had a bad influence from somewhere )
She originally did about 4 lessons of Ceroc though and enjoyed it.
