No one else seems to have started the "Who's Going Where?" thread for the weekend of 7-9 November 2008, so here goes...
---------------------------------------------
How it works:
Suggest events you personally are interested in attending, in the form "Day - Event - Location".
For example: "Sat - Halloween Party (Ceroc Scotland)- Dundee (Bonar Halls)"
The moderators will put these suggestions into a poll - usually around Tuesday.
Note: The poll may include "DO NOT VOTE" options, which allow the mods to add events in order after the poll is created - but only if no-one's voted on them. So, please ...er... don't vote on them.
People vote, we can all see who's going where, and the indecisive amongst us can decide where to dance.
Note: no advertising: The forum rules about advertising apply - these polls are not meant to allow organisers / crew / friends to advertise events. The moderators will remove any such posts.
---------------------------------------------
At the moment I'm going to:
Sat - Stardust Ball (ballroom freestyle) - Fulham Town Hall, London.
but wait to see what else is posted for the other nights.
I know that there are also:
Fri Sat Sun - Bliss Weekender - Camber
and
Fri Sat Sun - East Coast Jive - Scarborough

Sat - Le Bop NZ Championships - Auckland, NZ
Yeah, cos I'm evil like that.
There's no rule that says I have to create the thread though. My social life is as disorganised as anyone's so I need to know where everyone else is going , so I started the thread a few times and it all got into a bit of a habit...I've been generally starting them on the Friday or Saturday before the weekend in question (unless I know I'll be at a weekender or something which means I've done them a little earlier on a Thursday).
Again, there's no rule to say it has to be that day.
Love dance, will travel
Fri Sat Sun - Rockbottoms - Torquay
my first time at one of their weekenders - starting to get nervous and excited!
Sorry DY - I'm just trying to get my weekends organised for a change!

Rock Bottoms Torquay 7-10 Nov '08!
Thanks Yli. Mmm being on the forum and facebook now at the same time under different names is getting interesting!
I spoke to a few people locally who've done the Rock Bottoms weekends before, mostly they're great fans and very loyal, always sold out ages in advance. Differences to Ceroc weekenders, apart from it obviously being in a hotel rather than a Pontins, seem to be:
- Saturday night fancy dress is a big feature, though not entirely compulsory!
- Sunday morning fun 'pyjama class'
- Inclusive shared meals etc in the hotel make for more social atmosphere
- Smaller dance floors, maybe more socialising and less dancing, though still late nights
- Handy swimming pool as already mentioned
- Alleged older clientelle on the whole, so not quite as energetic. Maybe I'll be a youngster for once
Apologies to Hev if any of this isn't a true reflection.
Would be nice to know if any more Forumites are going, though the Camber weekend will take most of them I guess.
There's also a Warmwell weekender with Mikey at the same time I believe, and my local Ceroc Live has a ballroom theme workshop and freestyle in Swindon on the Saturday.

Like the sound of:
Sat - MJ-ives Charity Dance - Leamington Spa
We specialise in tracks which are great for interpreting and musicality (Chill out/Blues Room feel), but intersperse them with faster tracks too so there is something for everyone.
Free, or voluntary donation on exit.
(all donations go to community work of St Mary’s Church)
Warmwell, Dorset - Weekender 7-10 Nov
Accommodation is a log cabin (we went for the 'Dorchester' model) - with me and 5 (five) women - so at least I won't have to do any washing up
