John and Wes are probably as likely as I am to be asked to teach at a Ceroc weekender.

However the hypothetical position I was talking about was that of me being asked to teach and me asking John & Wes if they minded. In this hypothetical parallel universe Ceroc would ask me to teach, the next day hell would freeze over and the day after that Rocky would play a track at the right speed*

*The day after that Mike Ellard called John & Wes to say "just kidding"

Having re read my post above, I apologise for the words ‘supported’ and 'defected'

It implies they were in a ‘camp’ of sorts

I wonder if this event will sell out, given the details

Franck, you got any gaps in the teaching for the next Blaze? I can suggest someone - he is quite good but won't start with a semi-circle

Why? And its quite funny that you use "CerocPort" as the name. How far we have travelled since the fighting of a few weeks ago

Why wouldn't it? It offers more than Bliss and that has sold out! (And there are 4 weekenders on at the same time)

To be fair most people on this forum have always stated they will go to what they feel is the best product for them ie does the business for them

They are sensitive to the recent issues around ceroc and Jive addiction but at the end of the day their the paying punter and have a right to decide where they go

Respect to Fletch given she knows both parties well and has decided to say it straight

My comments re Nigel and Nina don’t help , re ‘supported’ and ‘defected’ were out of order, they encourage a them and thus basis and I apologised for it and disserve the –ve rep

Wouldn’t it be nice that at some stage the best DJs and the best teachers could be free to go to all events , im sure weekenders would be richer for it

Southport should have had a branded name, now it has one

    Why?

Should we all ring John and Wes to tell them where we're going then?

no David i'm not on about you, (if you have no direct contact with them) I do and given the recent situation between Ceroc and JiveAddiction good manners should dictate this. If you feel you have a relationship with either you would mention it out of common curtesy.

Surely this is the type of thing you mother and farther should have instilled into you as you were growing up, you shouldn't need me to give you a lesson in good manners at your age.

So are you going to tell them all your future weekender plans then? Do you think everyone who's on good terms with John and Wes should tell them? Or is your relationship special in some way?

I'm sorry, I can see Andy's point, he's a teacher, but you're a normal punter, so why is it important to tell people? Unless you have a commercial relationship with either of them - are you teaching the snake?

I wasted all my time learning to spell

Seriously, I don't see why it's good manners to specifically ring someone up and tell them that you're going to a competitor's weekender? I mean, you know, so are 1,500 others, many of whom no doubt will also be friends to J&W.

If I was a personal friend of John and Wes had attended all their weekenders and numerous other activities including holidays and the like, I might want to give them a call. Whether it manners/courteous or what ever , what’s the problem with that ??

Would I publicly say I’ve contacted them , probably not

If your indifferent and attended very few of their events and don’t really know them its another matter

Would I publicly say I haven’t contacted them re a forum , probably not

Well, both myself and DS thought it was a bit strange, that's all.

And yes, also a bit unusual to publicly announce it...

well hun, I know your good at talking for yourself, i'm not one to let some one talk for me normally either.

so i'm not sure where you get the we from if this the royal 'we' ? i'v neaver taken sides i'v said right from the start I was going to both, I was one of the 1st to book CerocPort when the lines opened, and I paid for me and 3 girls for Skeggie both dates while at SP.

If you have come a long way i'm pleased for you moving on is good

Please tell me why I shouldn't reffer to it as CeroPort its helping me when I expleaining who's going where people are getting confusse between SP (JivieAddiction) 'skeggie' and Southport Ceroc, and the dates are similar, you proberlby don't do a lot to promote or encourage new people on weekenders, I do. Or am I been judgmental.

John and Wes will not be expecting all their friends from previous Southport events to give them courtesy calls on where they will be certain weekends Just make sure you go to Eclipse If you feel you need to tell them you are going out of common courtesy or moral obligation, should you actually be going?

You're right about DBs age though, can't teach an old dog new tricks you know.

"We" as in "the forum". The general theme was one of outrage for the Southport "incident", but now we have a cute customer-created brand name. Which is nice frankly, we have moved on in a short space of time.

No reason at all. Its quite nice actually

    Yes

is this suddenly relevant because you thought i was judging you ?

I think Fletch is looking at it from a friend's point of view rather than a punter's.
I too would let them know, because I am a friend of theirs, but I wouldn't let Mike know if it was the other way round because I hardly know the guy.

That 'brand name' actually came about during the posts of outrage. It helped us with easily distinguishing between Ceroc's Southport and Southport as we knew it. As for the people's feelings about it all, I'm sure there are still plenty of Miss Outraged from *** but it's all been said so no point in repeating it. We just have to do what is right for us and our own opinions on the matter.
