Sleeveless Tshirts Must Die and other sartorial disasters

At Berko last night, I noticed about four guys wearing these.

None of them looked like MikeyR or Viktor - in fact, all of them were even older and even less fit than me.

    It looked awful.

Guys, for the love of God, don't wear these things, OK? They don't make you a good dancer, they don't make you look good, and - armpits? - I'm pretty sure they don't make you feel good either.

    What are your clothing hates?

Totally agree on the no to vests stance on men.

Also, dancing in gloves - don't understand that at all, especially when they get so wet my fingers slip out of hold.

The other one is women who don't check out how high their skirts flip up when spinning before leaving the house. Fine, if have shorts/big knickers underneath, but it's not pleasant to see flash of thong when the skirt tips up. A friend of mine once referred to one girl's situation as a car crash scenario - you just can't stop looking!

Well there was one poor soul at the last Hammersmith who didn't realise that her hipster skirt and top had parted company, and she was showing off the top of her tights, stretched over her tummy, to everyone!

I do wonder, every time I go to Hammersmith, if there are people who actually bother to look in the mirror before they leave the house...

Also if they are wearing short skirts but liable to be dipped and dropped. Can't they teach the women to keep their legs together as well?!

Now, I do wear vests, usually later on in the evening and I hadn't really thought about it much before. Is a man wearing a vest any worse than a woman wearing a vest-type top? Of course the whole hairy shoulders thing I totally get and agree that its not a good look but for us smoothies, is it not OK?

I think it's less the vest on men (well unless they're really scrawny or really muscly) and more the sweatiness which obviously isn't pleasant one anyone.

There's one guy I dance with fairly regularly who often wears a vest. It doesn't look great on him, but it's wet shoulders that aren't pleasant to leave my hand. Same as a guy having sweaty arms. I'd rather there were short sleeves to help absorb some of the wet.

I suppose women probably sweat less on their shoulders than men which is where the difference lies for me.

Because men have no sartorial sense? And because we sweat more?

Seriously, no 50+ woman in poor shape would wear that sort of thing, but the sleeveless vest look seems to be widening as a habit with the equivalent men.

I must thank you for reminding me of the 60+ year old lady who was not in good shape and danced in a boob-tube ALL night, not pretty and not nice.

That's like saying "some people can do aerials safely in social dancing" - sure, a few can, but 99% can't, and they shouldn't try.

In fact, I'd prefer a ban on sleeveless Tshirts to a ban on aerials...

Not a hate particulary I am just wondering why some men wear long sleeve shirts when dancing as I would have thought they would make you really hot? - and not in a good way!

    Because most women prefer them?

Actually, shirts worn over sleeveless vests are a good combo - yes, the vest gets sweaty, but the shirt (the bit women touch) doesn't.
