Well done to everyone who took part this year, sounds like it was a great event.

Hmm. Minnie's spelling again. Try "Hotspot". The couple who enter are representing their regular venue e.g. JiveNation or Ceroc Thames Valley. However, if Hotshot weren't seen as a derogatory term it would be more appropriate as each venue has it's hotshots.

It was a good day - very slick running and some great dancing. I also was not too sure about the live band thing. Nice idea but don't think it really works on this occasion IMO.

It is like the DWAS, but you can turn down your allocated partner and dance with someone else if you want. It is not judged by the regular panel. Instead the people that turn down 3 allocated partners in a row sit on the edge of the stage and become judges. You can get bonus marks if you allocated partner gets really upset and walks off the floor, but lose marks if they dance with someone else and are better than you.

    Judging & Marks Received

I've had a few PMs asking me about marks received by couples. Marks were only awarded in the finals. Even then the marks for each judging criteria were only complete in the Showcase and Group Showcase. For the other finals where 5 couples were dancing it would have been impossible for judges to fill in all 35 boxes and still watch the dancing - in these cases the judges marked by exception, marked the good and not so good factors, or they simply ranked the competitors.

If anyone would like to know more about how their position was calculated or what marks they got please send me a PM. Make sure you tell me your competitor number as it will make it much easier.

Simon and Nicole. Awesome . Stunning performances in both Showcase and Open. Don't think I have ever seen anyone dance and perform quite like ever before in the MJ world, and they looked soooo relaxed and happy. Yes, they are my friends, but I have seen them dance and perform many times but this time they took my breath away.

    Thanks hun

we had a great time and well done to sarah and team for another well run comp

This was the first time we had really showed off our new routine which we put together in 4 weeks so we were very nervous.

Nicole and I were really happy with our performances on the day but were even happier for all our students that also competed.

I will not name names as i'm not sure if they would be happy being named.

But we are very, very proud of you.

Or it could be me wanting to produce a list that didn't have Simon & Nicole at the top
