Cool The Etiquette of saying NO (Part Deux)

This follows on from Gus' thread about the polite/correct way to say no to a dance. How do you say no to someone you have already danced with? Not because they hurt you, or smell bad, but because you want to get to other people as well.

Don't get me wrong, it's lovely to be asked a second time for a dance, but a fourth, fifth.... eighth! I'm not talking about through a weekender here either, this would be at a normal freestyle (or perhaps one evening of a weekender). It's not a big problem for me, but it does happen from time to time and I never know what to say

Re: The Etiquette of saying NO (Part Deux)

Ok first post in the forum for a while - nice to be back. I had a storming time at the evening of the rebel yell in Woking BTW.

As regards saying no, first point is that if I say I need to get a drink or go to the loo then out of principle I stay off the floor until the next record starts. One should NOT under any circumstances resume with another dancer.

As regards someone pestering for a lot of dances,, a good way is to say "can I see you later on as I have danced with you already". If it's near the end of the evening one might say "theres someone I need to catch before the end". It's fair to say that if you have danced with someone more than one then this is perfectly acceptable.
