    Re: Dance websites

Saving costs and sharing expertise are very good reasons for a joint approach.

For me the site should sell the product to someone that did not know it existed. I would hope to see Dance and an animation of dance, hear some catchy music, and see a click on video clip.

I have heard people say they will not try Ceroc because it is like Salsa, and seen people walk out because it is not.

The video clip has to amuse, hold the attention of unbelievers. I would show a prolonged slow comb and say, tongue-in-cheek, that you can dance all night without moving your feet. At the other end of the scale I would show clips like CJ's and Yli's showcase.

MJ has a credibility gap to breach. Its good for your health, its glorious fun, it will build your confidence, make you new friends, take you to places you could not have imagined, etc. It needs people to try it to believe it, but the next best thing is a video clip that shows MJ in action.

It is nevertheless a small step in the right direction.

Also there is a tube station called Watford in the other direction to the Railway station which was not mentioned.

From the map if you panned it out, the venue looked in the middle of the two stations.

Where are you looking? If it's at our UTOPIA site then everything you have said is simply not true.

The Twisted page on the UTOPIA site clearly states that it is a 10 minute walk to both Watford Underground and Watford Junction Overground.

So it does, I missed that.

Am I missing something, just reading this thread?

Where are the websites that are being discussed?

    It's the Utopia website.

    Hi John S

The OP was by Lee Bartholomew who is redesigning his website which is www.southcoast-dance.co.uk. Presumably he could not put this web address on the OP as it is against forum rules. It is this website that comments are being invited on.

The Utopia site that Astro is referring to, has come into the loop because she used this thread to give an incorrect view about venue directions on its website.

I hope that makes things clearer, albeit less amusing.

I thought the thread went quite well, without mentioning the website address we were discussing...

Was quite fun to see how long the thread would last without a quote to the actual site...

He didn't bother as it has the web site address in his profile. If we cant figure that out, we shouldn't be commenting on it

    Hi Martin

I thought the thread was amusing as it was beginning to get a Marx Brothers film feel about it.

    BUT YOU, YOU'RE WICKED

You was actually going to allow some poor guy pick the Utopia site to bits and then wonder why he was facing the wrath of Rocky and Silver Fox.

A bit like The Marx Brothers meeting damnation.

PS how are you getting on with the Zouk dancer

    Wrath?!

It would be wrong to say that we never make mistakes but we are extraordinarily pedantic about the content being as correct and up to date as possible (you will note I've not used the the word 'anal', for obvious reasons..)

There is an obvious reason for not using the word "anal". It is patronising. However, that didn't stop Rocky patronising himself

Did you want some feedback on the Utopia site?

I'm happy to provide it, but like others, I'd only do so on request.

Hmmmm..... maybe I should submit mine for review...

Possibly rude to someone with the mentality of a teenagaer who laughs if the see the word "penis" written down. However, "anal" is a word I use on a regular basis as part of my work. Nobody sees this word as rude

Andy, stop being a pain, OK? I'll move any more off-topic posts into "Andy being a pain" thread...

Is that above or below the "tell Andy to get stuffed" thread?

On a serious note, I was just being silly in an attempt to be entertaining. Now I am not being silly. I'm being serious. Being told off by an interfering moderator is what has been putting me off posting on this forum in the way I used to do. Nowadays I'm posting less and less often because the trolls have become moderators - or have the moderators become trolls?
