    Shoes

Yes, the girls favourite subject again!

Since I'm having ongoing problems with my feet and wearing heels hurts, I need to find some WCS-style sandals, or other low-heeled shoes or sandals that I can wear with skirts, as at the moment the only comfortable pair I have are my uber-sparkly lace-ups, which are great when wear trousers but otherwise would look slightly naff.

I tried a lovely pair from Standout Dancewear, but I have very narrow feet and they were huge on me.

Can anyone recommend some that will fit narrow feet please?

I think Heavenly dance shoes do a service where you draw around your feet and then they make them to size...

I don't know that they make them specifically to your foot though, I think they use that to work out which size to make for you.

I have narrow feet too and one pair Heavenly made for me was size 4 foot with size 3 width which seemed to work.

I also have a pair from Standout and I just went for a size smaller to get a better width fitting - so I have their WCS sandals in size 3.

Though Heavenly would be a good choice - as you have such a range of colours and sparkly styles to choose from! (I have turquoise sparkly WCS sandals and love them!)

Sounds fabulous darling! Turquise is my favourite colour I might give HDS a call.

I originally ordered the Standout ones in a 6 (as the lace-ups I have are a 6, I'm a 5.5), and I swear I could've got both feet into one shoe Balca kindly bought a pair of 5's to June Southport for me to try, but they were still too big on the strappy part, although I didn't want to go smaller as my toes would've been over the end in a 4. Luckily she managed to sell them to someone else though

Thanks for the advice, and if anyone has any other suggestions...

I have some silver sandals from Supadance (style ref 1666). They are for children and go up to a size 5.5. They fasten with an unusual wrap design but are very comfortable.
I find them great and as an added bonus they are only £29.99.
They come in flesh, silver and white.
    I got mine from Rippledance.

The two best things I've found in shoes for tango are smooth soles and heels. Its possible to dance in lower shoes (the teacher of the class I'm going to at the mo wears dance trainers!) but I've found that a bit of a heel helps. And the smoother soles help with pivots.

I think Heavenly ask you to get someone else to draw around your bare feet. Something to do with moving your feet while bending over to draw - still, the vision of anybody bare, bent over, standing on a sheet of paper and drawing around their feet is a difficult image to shift ...

It would be if it hadn't been for the identity of the last person who told me they'd had to draw around their feet - that person was a 6'7" male dry-cleaner

If if if you have narrow feet and are willing to take a risk, I might suggest Tango Goods ebay store

eBay Store - Tango Goods: Women's Tango Shoes, Men's Tango Shoes, Ballroom Dance Shoes

which will send you tango shoes direct from Argentina. They are good value, and the shoes they sent me were really beautiful except that they were way too narrow. I suspect Argentinian women just have very narrow feet, or maybe mine are just hopelessly wide. I sold them again on ebay and the buyer was, quite justifiably, delighted with them! So, with reservations, I'm suggesting this firm.

You might also want to look at
Guaranteed Fit - Authentic Tango shoes from Argentina which have a good returns policy but may still not be worth the hassle.

Jivecat, you owe me $159.94, but if the damn things fit I owe you a million

I didn't realise there were so many people out there with narrow feet, perhaps we should start our own society - or dance shoe company!

Gosh, have you parted with cash already?? (Hope you read my disclaimer!)Took me 3 months to pick the style I wanted. Which one did you choose?

If I was going to do it again, I would ask them to measure the actual shoe across the base where the toes go - I've measured my shoes and anything less than 8.5cm is too tight for me, preferably 9cm. You could try a similar test, though I guess it also depends on the width of the upper. Also, I don't know if I'd trust them to measure properly.
Let us know how it goes.
