    Thought Police

So it seems that the Indian judicial system is starting to dabble a bit with science fiction.
Anyone else find this to be somewhat ... disturbing?

I would be surprised if the technology was sufficiently advanced to be reliable.
"The fact that an advanced and sophisticated democratic society such as India would actually convict persons based on an unproven technology is even more incredible."
Havig sat through a murder trial where one defendant just claimed that he remembered nothing about the events and had a smart lawyer get him found not guilty I am sure that brain scans are far more reliable that current methods which have been proven time and time again to be unreliable. The only excuse for present methods is that it is the best we can do, and it is not the best we can do anymore.

it was bound to happen - its only a matter of time before you get arrested for having "suspicious thoughts"

We have already seen people getting arrested, convicted and even shot dead because police, and other people, other people have suspicious thoughts.

The real danger is once we know where the various thoughts are situated we can start to work on changing them. The powers of gods are being given to a species that cannot be trusted with a pointed stick.

Well, that happens in the UK already. Especially if you write your thoughts down as a poem.
