Yippeee - the world didn't end...

.....as planned at 8.30am this morning.

Those Swiss cheese eating clock-makers didn't recreate the big bang after all.

So, I guess we can all relax and enjoy all those wonderful things that we are going through at the moment - the credit crunch, the last Southport, learning our sugarpushes and tuck turns, the war on terror, the joy that the Harry Potter encyclopaedia (unofficial) has been barred from publication.

See you in the Blues room.

Bugger, I'll have to do all those jobs I was hoping to get out of when the world ends.

You've still got another 50 hours before the whole thing implodes. It all happens the day after tomorrow.

I like the way Steven Hawkin tries to assure us nothing will happen. He's on his last legs anyway, what does he care?

So far this morning I've had 3 offers of "End of the World" sex, 5 minutes of tounge action from 2 others and a sausage roll from the garage.

I guess we'll have to fit in all the classes on Friday evening if there's only 50 hours

Bah, it was such an anti-climax. No big red button of DOOM, they are just turning on it on slowly (to stop the world ending?) and it will be a while before they crank it up to full speed.

Kinda a let down really, I put my tinfoil hat on and hid under the table for nothing.

I envy you Double Trouble, I don't get offers like that.

Will it be a case of the Earth moving and tipping over then?

At least if in 2 days the world does end, there won't be any more keys in the middle parties

As Jasper Carrott once said 'The number of times I've gone home in a Reliant Robin!!!'

    - I was hoping for a Skoda at least to spare the embarrassment - and anything else that has a possibility of rubbing off on me!!!

Not quite nothing. At least you'll be able to listen to the special episode of Torchwood on Radio 4 at 2.15 this afternoon.

We'll be alright until those pesky scientists get the particles going in different directions and start crashing them into each other...

At the rate they are progressing, that could be much sooner than they thought!

It's like something out of a sci-fi movie; at the beginning it all goes so well, and then after a bit too much champagne, someone fails to notice the warning light, and then BOOM!!! The world ends and people never get to find out where Eclipse is going to be.

Still, the chances of the world ending because of this machine are pretty high....but then, people do win the lottery....

Yup...turns out that 1 femtosecond after switchon, we all got flipped into a parallel universe which is almost exactly the same, but with one tiny difference.

I now have a badge which says "Supreme Ruler of the Universe".

    Cool.

So, time for you to all pay me money, peel grapes, and so on. I'll come up with a definitive list of requirements soon.

    In the meantime, dance!!!

LHC... Half-a-million posts on the CS forum... Ceroc taking over SP... This can't be a coincidence, it's clearly the End Of Days.

Junior heard about this at school and has been bursting into tears all day (she's a bit of a sensitive wee soul!)

My brain is going to explode if she asks me any more questions about 'big bangs' and black holes.

Uh, guys, nothing was EVER going to happen to the universe as we know it when they fired up the LHC yesterday. Because yesterday was the first beam, but not the first collision.

Basically, yesterday, they cautiously fired up the machine and sent a beam around. The actual experiments for which the LHC was designed will not begin until October. You can save your panic and abject terror for then.

But I, for one, am quite confident that we'll all still be around for Christmas.

The children in the class I work with, asked me yesterday "Is the world going to end today?"
I said "Yes" (They never take me seriously anyway, so they didn't blub )

According to my 13 year old, October 21st is the day for the Big Bang.
