Hahahahah there are so many funny posts on here today!
I can't stop laughing!
You, DTS, are BONKERS!
ps. I love a good lamb shank with mashed potatoes. Yum.
Now ...Lamb
A funny old meat is Lamb. Now you may, or may not know my eating habits.
I make a big pot of stew and eat only that until it is all gone.
Now this can last anything from 2 days to a week, i eat nothing else apart from the stew, I have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I take a food flask to work and take vitamins to get anything I am missing out on.
I normally put pork chops and sausages into it, however this week there was a special on Lamb and steak. I only buy meat on the special offer.
Into the stew goes all of the cheap food, store home brands, potatoes, carrots, mushrooms etc, you get the picture.
This stew normally lasts for about a week before I have to add so much curry etc to it that it becomes unedible. Not a lot of stews have ended up on the toilet, as I tend to scrape off the mould and eat it anyway.
Now Lamb, bloody Lamb! It just will not keep, tends to go off after a few days. I knew this but decided to give Lamb another chance anyway.
Sneaky meat is Lamb, looks all lovely and gorgeous but will bite you in the ar*e if not careful.
Pork and steak on the other hand are a lovely hardy meat that will be edible weeks after you have stewed them.
So whats the crack with the Lamb then?? Why is it so wimpy and keeps going off on me?
Bit of advice here for all of you who want to lose weight.
Try this stew for a week and see how much weight you lose, it just drops off you.
If you keep the stew over a week and continue to eat it the weight loss is marvellous as I think you get a mild case of Listeria, or some other such bug and the weight just walks off you.
Anyway just wanted to have a pop at the total lack of SAS potential in Lamb. Lamb get your self sorted out .
Oh yeah have given up bread and now only have pitta bread lovely it is.

Thing is darling is that it is true.
This is how I eat, I live on my own and food has never been an issue for me.
I could eat one food for months and not be bothered in the slightest. Vits give me what I need.

DTS you are BARRRRKing mad haha *my pathetic attempt at a joke*
i love lamb in mint sauce but sometimes i find it really chewy so i don't have it often.
Have you tried shouting at it?
Curses. I thought this was a thread about Gwen Stefani's first LP.
Album.
CD?
Does the hot pot of delight stay warm, does it get left out, does it get put in the fridge...
does it get re-heated every time you need it?
How does it work ?
I thought it was about the mildly eccentric trip-hop/electronica/jazz combo, but it's clearly in the wrong section for us, Baz.
Everything in pot heated up.
When i want some, microwave a bowl and eat. Everything stays in pot all week.
Works for me.

Thing is pips I dont want it to last months just until I finish it.
Normally it is fine it is just Lamb.
No bloody stamina has Lamb.
I do not add anything to the stew, just munch the stew when I get hungry.
I do sometimes forget to eat for a day or two, and that plays havoc with the stew, as it maybe 2 more days of decomposing before I munch it.

Dave, you must have a cast iron stomach! Mind you, I have a friend living near Carmarthen who does something similar. He lives on his own on his farm, makes a big pot of stew at the start of the week and eats it all week until it is gone. Rinse and repeat. Mind you, he leaves his on his Aga and just tops it up with a drop of water when it starts to dry out. It's being heated all the time, so it doesn't have a chance to go mouldy.
I couldn't live on it for a week (I'd rapidly get sick of eating the same thing all the time), but I must admit his stews are absolutely lovely, especially with a bit of fresh bread and butter and a nice big mug of tea.
Well this was why I was interested, I do the fridge and freezer portions thing... coz been told keeping things warm or standing out on stove/cooker not so good.
I would be happy to make up a big stew and munch on it whenever, keep it in the original pot and leave it out... am I being overly cautious putting it in the fridge or freezer?
Peas pottage hot, peas pottage cold, peas pottage in the pot 9 days old
