Mickey Mouse's girlfriend, Minnie, made her film debut, along with Mickey, in "Steamboat Willie" on November 18, 1928.
That date is recognized as her official birthday.
Gary made me cringe, he's straight out of EVERY MJ class on the planet, you know, part of the divorced and dangerous crowd, satin shirt (X-mas 1986) tucked in to M&S jeans. Nice and bouncy and always asks all the PYTs because he's been doing the intermediate class for a year so he's advanced now, obviously.
I think some of the girls will get better but for good start AND potential I still think Tom and Austin have their noses in front.
Cherie has real class and finesse. Loved Rachel and Vincent's choreography, especially that slow start. One or two of the other couples were hampered by pretty awful music choices I thought, or is that just salsa for you? Thought the boys did pretty well on the whole in their group thing.
Nice review DB - you had it all pretty much spot on.
OK, so the poll on this thread is entitled "Who are you going to vote for (this week)?" I voted last week but as it's the same poll this week it won't let me vote again. Any chance some friendly moderator could reset it each week? Or is it just a good idea that didn't work?

Crikey, don't remind me. At Southport some friends talked me into going to a salsa weekend - back at Southport Pontins - on the 17th October. So I went to a salsa class last Sunday (I thought it might help if I learn how to salsa ), and left an hour after the class cos the freestyle music grated my nerves so much. Where's the stick your finger in your ears emoticon when you need it!

Christine Bleakley gets my vote. So elegant, I hope she goes all the way, especially as she has no dancing history. Definitely a natural.
I also noticed that Lilia seems to really like Don. Awwww! Int that nice?

Thanks DB for the review, really useful. I missed it last night - had planned to download it on iPlayer but its decided it wants to take about 3 months to download so I've given up.
i watched strictly with my friends last night, me and my friend anna were like the muppet critics, applauding and critiscising bad footwork, awakward arms until my other friend decided to walk out the room and let us discuss the mistakes
must say my favourite dance all night was definitely rachel and vincent's salsa. Vincent is soooo hot! And such a brilliant partner, lots of complicated moves but loved it.
im sorry but david arch and his bloody music band HAVE TO GO! they choose the wrong music all the time i mean why woul you play gabriella cilmi's sweet abot me for a foxtrot? im not an expert but i know what music is supposed to give to a performance and i would not feel happy dancing t a song that didn't fit.
anyway on a brighter note i liked lisa and brendan's salsa especially the corkscrew, i have been practicing them for months and still can not get up at the end so i know how hard it must be for her to learn it, particualrly with brendan's demands for complicated moves.
absolutely wet myself at the group merangue, andrew castle reminded me so much of my own dad (mac) and gary rhodes was diabolical! possibly the worst male celeb dancer since quentin wilson (or am i being too harsh) he threw karen round the dancefloor 0like a ragdoll, never had his eyes up and was as wooden as pinochio!
jodie kidd however was elegant, i especially loved her high kicks and len was absolutely right, she carried off elegance with a capital e!
although jessie was bottom of the leader board i think there is more to her than meets the eye, i think she will improve immensley.
