Ah, i missed the bit where it says they actually work 16 hours a day, 7 days a week
It also says this
'The dancers have to choreograph their routines, sort out the music and teach and rehearse the celebrities, often travelling long distances.'
So it does depend on whether you count travelling to work in it.* I was thinking that the choreography wouldnt last that long but i suppose that some of it is for dances that they dont really know much about - that would take longer. For a current celebrity who is working then the contact hours probably wont be a nice standard 9 until 5. They may have to do bits here and there - that is what i meant by the total length of the day. The series only lasts about 16 weeks, what are they doing for the earlier weeks?
She also says the judges dont mix much with the dancers. If the judges did mix then there would be complaints about how they were getting on too well with certain people and giving them better results. A no-win situation?
*This would also explain why they appear to be south-east based
