I agree about keeping things a bit tidier, so I removed the bars on the side of posts. The information is still available if you click on the name of any forum member (including your own). The idea of vBexperience is to paint a more accurate of forum interaction and reward a more holistic use of the forum, beyond the obvious: number of posts, length of time on the forum and reputation...

For example it takes account of referrals (people who quoted you as the person who introduced them to the forum), the number of time someone said 'thank you' by clicking on the new 'thanks' button feature, as well as using all the forum aspects (like uploading photos, posting a blog, etc.).

A forum is not just about the posts and discussions we have, but also how we interact with each other and the relationships that develop virtually to create our community, so rewarding visibly those who make it happen seems like a logical step!

Once again thanks for your patience whilst I try out new things and for the feedback as I continue to experiment with the overall look and features
    Franck.

    There's an A.P.P. for that!

I agree Franck, and I think you've restored the balance and got it about right again I'm still exploring some of the new features, looking forward to having a proper play myself when the board I SysAdmin for goes to 3.7.2

    "Thanks" bug??

On this post it says "the following user says Thanks to SteveK for this useful post:" but there's no user shown. Is this is bug?

Is there anyway of stopping my phone automatically selecting the iphone skin? Even if I try to change it on the phone, it doesn't actually display the chosen skin, it just seems to default back. Whilst it's a nice clear skin, it leaves out some info I like to see (like which are the new posts since my last visit, and showing both the originator & last poster of a thread).

I'd love to be able to choose the skin on demand.

    It's a N95 & I'm browsing through Opera Mini.

Hmmm, weird, looks like a bug. I'll investigate further.

No problem, I have now changed it so you can choose your skin normally....

Is there a quick way of deleting old PM's without having to do them one by one?

No bug, I was checking out what that new button did, and then deleted...

    Just noticed another new feature (or has it already been noticed, and I'm just slow? );

Quoted text now contains a link to the original post - neat!

    Re: Update to Forum Software.

Another round of fixes and I've implemented a few more features too!

You can now click on your status in the 'welcome' box at the top right of the page to publish what you're up to now (similar to Facebook's feature). This will appear in all your posts in the side panel! You can see my status to the left (currently: Updating Forum software )

    Enjoy,
    Franck.

My curser changes into a weird circle with cross going through it, when I pass over 'My status :No Status' and it wont allow me to click on it

anyway, in case anyone's really interested, I've got a bird dying in the garden at moment, right outside my study door.. so i'm going out, as I don't know what to do and its upsetting me
