Also, the profile page shows exactly where you are on the forum right now - this feels like an invasion of privacy. If I want to broadcast where I am & what I'm reading, I'll post. I don't mind the forum showing whether I'm online or not - it's a bit like acknowledging 'yes, I'm at home' - but I don't have glass walls on my house to show people where I am every second of the time, and I don't see why the forum should advertise it either. I realise that mods can probably see and records are kept of who's been where but I don't think it's necessary for everything to be public knowledge.

Also, all the best smileys (hugs, kisses, love, flowers particularly) aren't working. Looking again, is it all the ones with moving bits?

Finally, trying to get back to the main forum page or 'recent posts' page from my profile, I get stuck at an error page with a lot of 'Failed to open stream: No such file or directory' messages. In fact, I get this with just about any move so I don't even know if this will post!
Yes - after Northants Girl made her post about it - I actually clicked on her Profile - to see how it would look - and of course it now says I looked at her Profile.......now I'm thinking that someone might just wonder why another person looked at your profile - even though of course it is perfectly harmless.

Hmmmm - a step backwards methinks........

Can anyone explain how changes are 'voted' for and agreed? Is there a committee of the great and the good - or.....?

    :yeah that:

It certainly could make you a little paranoid knowing who's looked at your profile - and how many times. It's just a little too much unnecessary info for my liking...

OMG - I am now totally paranoid at looking at anyones profile (which I sometimes do in case I recognise them from Competitions/Freestyles..) in case they think I am some sort of stalker... Eeek!

Am I the only person who really likes it?

I love the new 'uncluttered' look Its so much more relaxing on the eye!

I also like the little profile messages!

I don't care if people look at my profile, or see that i've looked at theirs. I look at peoples profiles for all sorts of reasons..

Sometimes its cos I want to find more of their post, as I know they're written something but I can't remember where..

Sometimes I like to see there profile pic, to see f I recognize them.

Sometimes I want to see when their birthday is

No, I quite like it also.

But there's always a "Change Is Bad" brigade.

Oh, and thank you, Franck, for putting the effort in to improve the forum software. No-one's said that yet...

    I like it too.

A few new smilies wouldn't go amiss either

What has happened to rep points and stats?

Has everyone with negative rep totals been reset back to 0?

I wonder if those of us who pay for the service should have some sort of say in how it develops - and what enhancements are made?

Otherwise, it seems (to quote another post) that we are in some kind of dictatorship. Personally, I think there would be more value in some minor restructuring of the the topic areas.

And no-one has looked at my Profile and I haven't got any friends.

    Re: Update to Forum Software.

And I just noticed that 'Rep' has disappeared....?!

I know this was the subject of a lot of discussion just after I joined the forum.

Is it a display 'option' or something - because there is still 'Rep Power'.

That's what the "Forum technical problems / Questions / Suggestions" forum's for - and you get loads of fun stuff for your £20 /year already.

    Re: Update to Forum Software.

Why is there now this glowing piece of text up top telling us that the Forum 'rules'?

I mean - surely people already know that the Forum rules? Isn't that why everyone's here?

    I'll get me coat.

So, in place of rep-tarts we now have profile-prozzies?

What does the friends thing do? Is it just a list of people you like or does it do anything else?

As Jive lad says it would have been nice to have asked those who pay for the service ,what improvements they would like to see, isnt that preferable to everyone saying what they dont like after its been done ?

    Re: Update to Forum Software.

    Just a few comments....

No 'recent posts' option. Which means if you have read a thread, but want to go back and post on it, it won't come up as a 'new' post thread so you have to try to remember where it was. Is there another way of quickly finding recent posts?

The 'new posts' page (which is the one I use most) is a lot more cluttered. Two extra columns meaning needing to scroll L-R to see page, and lots of extra words 'go to first new post' before each thread title and sometimes also 'you are suscribed to this thread', plus 'go to last post' etc. Are these temp features to be replaced with icons?

Haven't looked at my (or anyone else's!) profile yet.

When did I say there was a 'problem' with it? After all Mussolini did make the trains run on time.

As long as it is how I would design it myself, then it is fine.

Oh and the new "Nananah" smiley looks positively spooky. Is the mouth slightly distorted a la Lembik Opek (or whatever he is called)?

So - what is the story on Rep?
