At VLV it went OK for the first dozen blokes or so then two refused on the trot, the first was alright so we had a chat then the next just walked off. Then I changed to leading.

Ok fellas dancing as a follower is not a problem to me, I actually enjoy it. However I am not going to disrupt or cause anyone any grief at any dance venues.

So if it is appropriate we can do a class as followers, but if anyone objects, as they have the right to do, I will revert to a lead.

At the end of the day I am at dancing to enjoy myself and not make waves.

Andy McGregor reckons that with some men, their "masculinity" is threatened and they feel angry. Hence the refusal.

But dancing has a history of men practising with men.
