New tv programme - Make Me a Christian

Channel 4 - Faith and belief - Make Me a Christian

    Check out the above link.

    Brilliant!!!

Bit concerned about the teacher's future teaching career

Wish I'd have known about this, would have loved to have 'volunteered' for this.

hmm, Brilliant ? Sounds dreadful - people often say this is a christian country but these people sound like the typical population. Could it be that the clergymen in question are in the extreme minority here ? seems odd that their definition of what it means to be a Christian is taken as the true version when the people who watch this who do consider themselves Christian, may well identify more with the participants.

If it involves gladiatorial arenas and a bunch of lions, must-see viewing, surely?

You missed the roll of sarcastic eyes after the word brilliant.

I can't think of anything worse being broadcast on our televisions. It just goes to show how desperate the church is becoming agreeing to this sort of sh**!!

Am more likely to watch the other new programme that is about to start, The Genius Of Charles Darwin - hosted by Richard Dawkins on 4 tonight.

    Lotsa love Lorna x-x

I guess they won't, however, be stoning adulterers, killing people who work on the sabbath, other things of that ilk.

I read your post and had a horrible vision that some bizarre religious group (born again virgins maybe? ) were performing 'operations' to repair hymens. I'm sure I read somewhere that this is done ?

Anyway, to redress the balance, did anyone see the channel 4 programme last night where the Women's Institute of Hampshire, went on a campaign to legalise brothels in England?
I take my hat off to the two lady's who went to Amsterdam and various other places, to do the research, it was hilarious!

    yeah,

caught the end of this programme. to those involved.

Especially loved the bit when the lady in the street asked ''how often does it come?''

The two bits I loved were, when the presenter tried being a 'phone sex worker'
and when one of the WI women, went into one of the brothel boudoirs and was trying to have a serious conversation with the owner, whilst there was hardcore porn on the TV with the volume up high! It was ever so slightly distracting!

I watched the Dawkins programme on Darwin (I knew it was on sometime, but thanks Lorna for the heads-up) and it was reasonably heartening to see that the minds of some of the children were at least open to the possibility that religious books aren't the only source of knowledge and wisdom.
