Strangely, that bothers me too and I've never understood why people would do such a thing. No upside down cups in THIS house either

... so that bugs/dust don't fall into the cup before you use it... that's the only reason I could think of.... mostly because I'm not into cups/mugs in cupboards upside down either.

hmm dubious reason - i think individual cups get cleaned more often then the actual shelf they are on - so putting them upside down to "avoid dust" seems fairly useless Of course the bugs thing might be a better reason assuming you live in Oz and have some serious "things you don't want in your cup"

Course most people are not so anal about this and don't really care In fact, I'm boring myself now.....zzzz

Hey - didn't say I was all for the "upside down cup/mug" behaviour... just offering a possible reason why someone would do it.
(I'm sure that even in countries other than Oz they have dust and bugs that may fall into the cups/mugs at the back of the cupboard )

:sigh: it's so that the poor cupboard pixies don't get stuck in cups during the night .

Genteelly, honestly, without humiliating them, and without leaving any doubt in there mind it is over.

I have never said I need a brake from you for a while, and I have never gone back after the relationship was over.

The only hope you can have is the other person has enough respect and pride for themselves that they will accept it with good grace and take NO for and answer.

Thats a difficult one, if they care they'll certainly want to try to change your mind. If as the person doing the dumping you got a response of "yeah whatever, look I'm busy" would you not think it slightly odd? Is it not much more likely, and expected, that you'll get them trying to talk you out of it ? Its a bit harsh to suggest someone you are "letting go" has no respect or price for themselves if they dare to question you!
