I got about 6 copies, all to different email addresses - but forwarded to the same location. Works quite well as an un-intentional 2nd line of defense.
I think we've mostly become so accustomed to the numerous email scams, that they end up being scrapped without a second thought. Or if it is reporting on the latest deadly computer virus, it's pretty easy to find information out there to confirm it's a scam.
But I just got this one, and haven't been able to find any information on it.
An email with the subject "UPS tracking service 10333..."
There is an attachment "UPS INVOICE 107.ZIP" which I'm not going to risk opening.Unfortunately we were not able to deliver postal package you sent on July the 1st in time
because the recipient’s address is not correct.
Please print out the invoice copy attached and collect the package at our office
Your UPS
Surprisingly this got past my SPAM filter. Has anybody else come across anything similar?

I heard of a nasty version
Were you are asked to confirm the time you are going to collect the item
While you are out your house is burgled
But they may also be a scam in itself
It's a virus
UPS Web Site : Attention Virus Warning
There was something similar to this going round a couple of yrs back where it asked you to call an 0870 number which was charged at over £1 a minute you were put on hold while they "find your details" then told that there was a mistake and there was no parcel obviously costing you an amount of money for the time you were on hold
Thanks guys, I suppose I should have thought of looking at the UPS official website, but I'd grown weary of my search.
It does seem as though the occasional spam gets past the filter on my Yahoo mail lately, have the spammers become more sophisticated?
Greg
you'll find that no official email from an actual company will send any attachments that you didnt specifically request - i recommend gmail to everyone for ALL their email (just point it at your POP) the spam filters are excellent...
