But there's no more information about it - anyone want to fill me in?Edinburgh Tango week-end with Stefano & Alexandra 30th/31st August, A great selection of workshops from The 'Tango in Action' experts: Stefano & Alexandra + a great Party at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange

Franck.
There's an A.P.P. for that!
Couple of follow-up questions:
- What will the music be? Tango? MJ? Blues? A mixture?
- What's the accommodation like in Edinburgh around then? When's the festival on?
I've also added a poll, to see if anyone's going I would want to avoid

The answers to these questions are:
- Busy
- Until August 31st
It's amazing what questions can be answered using this crazy internetty thing, you know.
The Edinburgh Fringe (i.e. the comedians, wannabees, and wannabee comedians up from Oxbridge) is finished by that weekend, however. So accommodation may be at less of a premium.
At the party on Saturday there will be 2 rooms, main room playing main room music and in the 2nd room it will be a mixture of Tango and Blues.
Sunday party is more chilled music, so leaning towards bluesy stuff with plenty of Tango tracks for you to practice.
Re accommodation you could try this guest house, run by one of the Edinburgh dancers. they may still have rooms available.
Also 28 York Place as it's not far from St Stephens, the workshop venue. They don't do breakfast, although there are cafés nearby.
Even closer is the Frederick Hotel.
This is the limit of my "hotels in Edinburgh" knowledge

was thinking of heading south this weekend.... but edinburgh is looking very appeallling
I don't know this area of Edinburgh, is there parking at the St Stephen's Centre or is it street parking.
Where's the option for just going to the parties? Some of us poor mortals have to work weekends
What a fantastic night it was last night! Well, for me it was, anyway.
I love the Corn Exchange venue, although the main hall was incredibly hot, and the floors could have been better (sticky). Great to have a second room, and very good to see so many people attempt tango - and to sit and just admire Stefano and Alexandra! They are absolutely amazing, and I just couldn't take my eyes off Alexandra's legs - how is it possible to do the stuff she does with her legs???? Also - I want gorgeous legs like that!
The cabaret was just jaw-droppingly amazing.
The best bit of the night was to have a few dances with people I very rarely get to dance with, and also almost remembering some tango! But only almost... Very impressed with pmjd, though, who remembered lots of tango despite not having done more than a handful off classes, over two years ago!
Franck - you always provide the best, and have done so again, with the venue, the guest teachers and the djs.
I had a brilliant weekend doing the tango workshops as well as managing to make both parties! Very tired and a bit sore today, but so happy
Thanks to Frank and Sheena for organising everything
Stefano and Alexandra were wonderful teachers and taught us so much, so clearly - thank you to both. I look forward to doing workshops with them in the future. Their dancing on Saturday night was just amazing
I think Aurion and I are just a little bit hooked......
Well, where to start... I'm on a real high at the moment. I had such a fantastic weekend! I have sore feet, sore shoulders, sore hips... Ok, I guess everything hurts... And... I'm exhausted! All signs of a great weekend! It was sooo worth it!
The tango workshops were just so good, I've learnt so much. Stefano and Alexandra are fantastic teachers, and dancers. Their dancing on Saturday night was amazing I always wanted to learn Argentine Tango from the first time I saw it - it's beautiful. This weekend has given me the boost I needed to go for it. I'm definitely going to start getting lessons. I got 2 dances with Stefano on Saturday night, it was wonderful - I was lost in the moment. What a lovely lead he is. I'm sure my love for the dance has nothing to do with the fact that he was wearing a suit, and had a lovely accent, and could dance tango Alexandra, well what can I say! Those legs, wow! Beautiful dancer...
A huge thanks to all of the guys for the lovely dances, and for making my weekend so good - there's too many people to mention, and I don't want to miss anyone out... I didn't have a bad dance all weekend! The corn exchange is such a great venue. I spent most of the night in the blues/tango room... Was good to practise what I had learnt. I really enjoyed last night's party too - it was a really nice atmosphere. I couldn't get into ceroc at all last night, sorry! I was in tango mode... Thanks to the guys for putting up with me.
Just a few things... Had a lovely first dance with Claire S - lovely lead! Claire and I shouldn't be allowed near each other while practising tango though, as we kept laughing at each other (it was her fault, not mines - I'm a good girl!). Aurion - I do apologise for getting all annoyed during one of the lessons, I'm such a perfectionist! I was concentrating on what I was doing, and then the next thing, somebody bumps into me - grrrr. Poor Aurion got the brunt of it, as he was my partner at the time. Aurion, I thought we did really well in the class - was so funny when Stefano stopped us and said "very good" in his lovely accent and we tried so hard to stop ourselves from jumping up and screaming
Not sure if anyone will remember the thread regarding my loss of confidence... But this weekend has given me such a boost.
A huge thanks to Franck and Sheena for organising it, you guys put in so much work. It is appreciated. There was one person missing over the weekend, which was a shame, but it couldn't be helped. Missed you. But I have sooo much to show you! A very special thankyou, as I had given up hope of going, but you stepped in and saved the day Thanks also to DD who stepped in at the very last minute.
Tango, here I come!
Lou x
Hi there,
Thanks to everyone who made me feel so comfortable turning up on my own for the workshops. I was truely amazed at just how wonderful it all was. Like the other messages a great big thanks to Franck and Sheena for making this happen and to Stephano and Alexandra as teachers. Estupendo! I'm still reeling from all that I learnt and will certainly be pursuing this further. I'm still just a little newbie - only dancing for about 6 months and this was just such a great learning experience and I'm sure will pay real dividends in all my future dancing attempts.
Thanks to Aurion for being such a good lead and 'feeling' the music - it made dancing with him a joy - again!
