I think you didn't put it in the right format, and the Mods are getting all particular & pedantic in their old ages... It's probably too late now, but

Fri - Trinity LeRoc, BAWA - Bristol

Lovely venue. Air conditioning, sprung dance floor, cheap bar...

There was a survey recently which said that the residents of Bristol (Bristonians?) are the happiest in the UK.

Very good, Robin. But actually, it's "all Sat" Although we are going out to watch Katherine Jenkins at Westonbirt on Saturday evening. I don't think that needs to be added to the list, though.

Do you need to book in advance??

I'm not sure yet if I can make it (depends on the brownie points I can earn ) but if I do go, it'll be a late decision

Does anyone know if you can pay on the door??

Yes you can, I've just booked my ticket. It's £10 online and £12 on the door.
Might go to Blue Monkey on Friday, as it's the first day of 6 weeks off work. (Just like to rub that in)

Anyone going to the Rivoli on Saturday who likes "Swing" bands, you are in for a treat.

I heard The Sentinels of Rhythm a couple of weeks ago and the are FAB

Hi - I was at Chesham last Friday - it was pretty good - the music was marvellous and folk were truly out to shake their tail feathers (well, at least I was!)

I'm there most Friday's but not this Friday unfortunately. If you do decide to 'pop' in - here's hoping you have a good time.

Unfortunately, can't make it this month. My sister's annual Summer visit from Jersey.

But, in any case, I'm really hooked on those Sunday Tea Dances/Freestyles which are much more my cup of tea (or coffee and biscuits). Less crowded, less frenetic; space to improvise and connect meaningfully. I do hope more are in the pipeline.

(Been disconnected for a few weeks but a CD in the post came to the rescue.)

Re: Who's going where? Weekend 18th/19th/20th July 2008

Here's a thought for those going to the Leicester Fresh event at the university on Saturday ...

Does anyone know about, or is anyone planning to go to, the afternoon tango practica which is - amazingly conveniently - also being held at Leicester University that day?

In fact the building where the practica is held is just about next door to our Ceroc in the Percy Gee student union.

I can't find much information on the web pages (I was refered to tangospa & Warwick tango) but the details which had previously been emailed to me were:

'Saturday practicas take place between 12.30 and 14.30, 10th floor in
the Charles Wilson Building at Leicester University'.

I haven't yet managed to get confirmation from the tango organisers that it is definitely on this week - does anyone know anything about it?

Hm, think I might be able to find a birthday boy or girl ... Best bring cake just in case!

I tried ringing the uni bar to see if they would either serve or let me bring my own champagne but kept getting cut off. I'll bring some anyway.
