If in a relationship - Honeyball is no longer in a relationship
If you want to take your relationship status off your profile without all and sundry getting a notification about it - set up your account first in such a way that no-one ever receives notifications about your relationship status and then remove it. Hope that makes sense.

Or delete the notification off your feed.

I guess I wasn't clear... My method doesn't involve privacy settings. If anything appears on your news feed that you don't want to appear elsewhere, you can delete it.

So you can change yourself relationship status, then go to your wall and delete the notification that has appeared there.

Surely by the time it appears on your wall though - a notification has already been sent to your "friends"?

I don't believe so, I think the "news feed" is generated on the fly from what is available from your friends. If you've deleted something from your wall, it's not available to be seen by others.
