I've just been spammed by this on Facebook:
I read it three times and I still don't understand what's actually being, you know, taught?Ceroc London brings you another inspiring and individual workshop.
LATIN PASSION with Maja the Queen of Latin Style
Take your Dancing to another Level adding Flair, Sensuality and Latin Passion.
With a Unique cocktail of hot Rhythms, inspiring technique, sweeping footwork and Dance Attitude.
Maja offers her own Unique and Sassy Latin Ceroc Style.
Anyone care to enlighten me?
And don't get me started on the capitalisation either...
I think she had done at least one weekender workshop with a very similar blurb (The DVDs are very useful for checking out teachers).
Definitely latin music (a well known cha track) on the DVD.
Lady does forward ochos (passable for Ceroc ochos) with leader behind holding her hands outstretched to the side at shoulder level.
Maja clearly puts some latin flavour into here dancing - she puts some quite latin motion in at times, and her arm movements such as the way she follows though are reminiscent of rumba / cha.
Nothing I can see about what the demo does that suggests latin at all though.
I believe this was entirely a moves workshop, with little or no mention of technique.
So in this case the latin part mostly amounted to the ladies copying what Maja did. It may or may not be different for a proper workshop.
Having never done one of her workshops before I'm afraid I don't have much to add to frodo's comment except:
Maja is a dancer, and I have no doubt the ladies can pick up on a lot of style tips from watching her a while regardless of what the workshop is trying to teach. That said, I'm less sure about what would be in it for the guys.
