    Good grief! What rubbish.

I thought we might have a thread about things to avoid - bad movies, bad books, bad music.

I'll start off with Final approach, a hijacking drama starring Dean Cain. It was dire. Just as a for instance - the bad guys are able to travel from Topanga Canyon (west of LA, just east of Malibu) all the way to the Nevada desert in less time than the aircraft (on a flight from Newark to LA) takes to cross the state of Nevada.

    By car.

That's at least a six hour trip, probably longer than it takes a passenger aircraft takes to cross the USA.

That's just one of a dozen plot holes. It's made for TV but jeez, it's bad.

Barry 'and why not?' Shnikov - watching the rubbish so you don't have to...

Big Brother. I haven't bothered with this show for years. When they combine Big Brother with a Battle Royale/Running man type set up, I might watch again.

A textbook example of reflexive irony.

That film is called The Crappening

I think due to that film some people have create a grudge/fear against wind, plants and trees!!! Can't understand why Mark would agree to even star in that movie!!!

Yep one of the worst films so far this year!!

Another film is sooooooo rubbish is Barn yard........the cow in the movie has UDDERS!!!!! I think the makers of that film need to research what gender a cow is.

So called 'investigative' programmes on TV.

Watched the Primark one last night. About 5 mins of a story stretched to an hour with the most appalling interviews with leading questions - if this was an assignment for a school level journalism project it would have failed miserably. To put it on prime time TV left me amazed.

(Plus they didn't know how to pronounce Primark properly.)

Correct me if im wrong, but female cows as in heffers have udders, and male cows, as in Bulls, dont. So was it a bull or a heffer?

I agree, this is the worst film and the strangest one I have ever seen. It doesn't really tell you a story.. at the end.. you're like 'and.. yeah? The point of the story is?'

The best bit though is when he was talking to the plant. He walks up to it, starts talking to it, feels it, and whispers 'it's plastic. He then continues to talk to it, then mutters 'oh my god.... I'm talking to a plastic plant... I'm still doing it!.

I also think it is a very disturbing film. Producer must be on drugs.

All I could hear at the end of the film was the word s.h.i.t echoing around the room.

I think the main character was meant to be a bull. Watch the film (if you wanna waste time or kill time) and you'll see!!!! The cow in that movie is male and has udders!!

Are we talking rubbish films or things like a 1,000,000 BC having dinosaurs ?

    In a recent film

They said Unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine is provided as a propellent and promotes red fuming nitric acid

    Everyone knows it prohibits etc

I try to switch off and not look for inconstancies

ps maybe they used a worm hole

Its so weird, with The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs I thought Shyamalan may turn out to be one of the great modern day writer/directors. After The Village and Lady in the Water, I found myself quickly changing that opinion; sounds like hes done it again

The Village was terrible! I nearly walked out of it. The Blair witch project and Signs are the only 2 films that compare in level of awefulness for me.

    Re: Good grief! What rubbish.

M Knight Shyamalamadingdong (credit to PZ Myers for that!) made a very clever and emotionally satisfying film with Sixth sense. But it was a fluke, or alternatively it was the only one he had in him, or possibly he was working with a competent producer breathing over his shoulder and making sure the film stayed tight and well-sprung.

He followed it up with Unbreakable which was unbelievable as the work of the same man. It was so terrible that I have been allergic to Shyamalamadingdong's films ever since, and haven't seen one of them. It was one of those films which is so awful that you find yourself wondering at what point the actors discovered they were in a complete turkey.
