    Roger Federer's style

An all time great tennis player............and stylish with it in the way he plays.

I am always slightly amused and somewhat impressed by his sartorial garb.

This year - I think it is the best yet - a cardigan, which looks so cool (well on Roger it does)...

Roger Federer buttoned up in a cardigan

Where can I get one like that?

PS _ I have a slight inkling that this may be Nadal's year though.

Um - you are talking about clothes? Did you know you actually posted that, it wasn't just - thoughts passing through your head.

Exactly! - I have wondered if he suffers from some medical condition which causes him to scratch his arse like that.

Maybe it's like the cricketers who surreptitiously put different substances on their balls to gain an advantage. At that level of sport it is the marginal things which make a difference.

So maybe here is a theory - if Nadal does this, then maybe he transfers a small amount of noxious molecules to the ball. As he serves those substances are attached to the ball and travel with it over the net. As the ball comes towards the receiver (let's say it is Roger) - the receiver may get a very small, almost undetectable unpleasant smell.

It may be a very small difference but it could cause to Roger to very slightly adjust his back swing and his head movement (like recoiling when someone encountering a sudden unplesant smell) - and then hit the slightly 'soiled' ball into the net.

Watch a match and see if after Nadal has a longer 'scratch' (current average is 1.8 seconds) whether the receiver has a greater tendency to hit the ball into the net (or out) on the return.

    ----------------------------------------

On the subject I raised...........I read that the cardigan costs £260 and there is a limited edition of just 230 of them..............

    Hmmmm..................

    Sorry Sue.........not my intention.

I guess we can have a tendency to put these guys on pedestals - and yet they still are human beings.......although if Roger Federer did break wind, I am sure it would be done in a very stylish way.

And if Maria Sharapova did, they I'm sure it would be most unusually fragrant (although probaby preceded by a short grunt......).

Well - he lost in style.......and what a wonderful match!

Great spirit right to the end........and some amazing shots.

I wonder if next year, her will dispense with any fancy clothes and just focus on tennis.

And Nadal was amazing as well. I'm not sure that any other sport has two guys at the top of their game like this right now...........

Sexy, cool and calm. Hardly broke out into a sweat in the final. *drool, drool*

I can't be doing with Nedal's grunting. It grates me so much, that I can't watch him play...it ruined the final for me. Get a nice cardigan like Federer and get your hair cut you noisy, sweaty hippy.

Funnily enough, we were just commenting on that last night. At the end of the match Federer barely looked out of breath and didn't have a hair out of place. Obviously that would be all the more impressive had he won, but still, one very cool customer!

    That's a bit harsh!

    I wouldn't call JiveLad a hippy.

.......well.. of course, as you know, I do wear 'beads' and just right now I haven't shaved for 5 days, haven't had a hair cut for 2 months. And the words "peace, love and understanding" trip out of my mouth like a... like a ... erm....like a........ hippy.

Hmmm - maybe it's a good job I ain't been out dancing recently.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
    DON'T YOU DARE!!!
Never, & I repeat, never wear a cardigan, & please grow your hair. It's not nearly long enough!
Have you never seen tennis before DT?
I have been watching it since the good ol' 70's when real men had long hair - it's part of the tradition (would love to go to the Champions ball & see those fine long locks tumbling down onto a nice suit - the juxtaposition is delicious)
