Residential Focus Weekend 5th-7th Sept 2008

I'm contemplating this - but is there any more info available (eg. where is it? what are the workshops? when does the price go up?!)

Hiya David....

It's in Kirriemuir, about 20 miles north of Dundee. Well, strictly speaking, it's in Dykehead, which is about 4 miles north of Kirriemuir. But apart from the hotel, there isn't actually else in Dykehead....

There are 5*1 hour workshops over the weekend. All (usually) taught by Franck. I think 3 on the Saturday, and 2 on the Sunday.

There's dancing on Friday night, a bit of a T-dance on Saturday, and then a main dance on Saturday night (with 2 rooms - me in the 'main' room, and Sheena in the blues room).

It's quite a small weekend (as they go!) - I think that there's usually about 40-50 people booked in for the residential thing and workshops, so the classes are much more like workshops, than 500 people in a room! Then people from Dundee, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and further come along for the nights of dancing. I've been to all the Saturday nights previously, and had a good nights dancing.

Apologies for not updating the Focus webpage quick enough. All the info is now available. The booking only just opened but half the places are already gone, so I recommend you book soon.
The Tramp already gave a good summary of the event, but I have added the description of classes (with timetable).

I naively came along to your “Drathzel Style” workshop at Blaze just past there only to blush (++) and run for my life out the door to the safety of the main room as fast as my little legs would carry me LOL

Definitely too hot to handle.
