I left a present for you? - Do not open if upset by absolute evil.

    Im speechless.

What is in somebodys mind that they can do this. Do people just get to breaking point or are they just evil.

This was pure revenge in my books so that makes him evil. But there are people out there who will try and defend these actions under some sort of past that he had where he was felt up by dad and therefore this behaviour was not unexpected. blah blah blah.

Where is the justice in this.?

There is no justice. Why are you looking for any? I'm not sure what you are talking about - the justice in killing the kids or the justice in defending him?

I'd be surprised if anyone anywhere will defend his actions, though generally I think it's more helpful to try to understand such people rather than merely condemn them. The more we learn the ever-so-slightly more likely that these things can be avoided in the future.

In my view, the instinct to look out for other people, let alone your own children, is so strong that only serious inadequacies or mental disturbance will remove it. It may be that his ex-wife was a bitch, it may be that she was not at all, but that he was just incapable of seeing things in perspective. It really doesn't matter (much) which it is, the children are dead and they harmed no-one. Sigh.

From what I've read, he seemed to think his wife would get custody of their children, and that this would be bad for both the kids he loved and himself. Perhaps he saw killing himself with his kids as a better alternative.

The reality seems to be that he was seriously depressed, not thinking clearly, and saw suicide as the only way out. As we've seen a few times recently, suicidal parents (both male and female) often want to "take their kids with them", so-to-speak. Maybe if the parent thinks life for themselves is not worth living, the same extends to the lives of their kids.

I don't think it was revenge or evil, I think it was just suicidal insanity.

I feel very sorry for everyone involved.

Do you think that all revenge is evil? Have you ever done anything to get revenge?

Never. I do not count revenge as getting even. I count revenge as a pointless task.

If i want to get somebody I do it by doing nothing. That actually winds them up more generally, esp when followed by a smile.

It was not suicidal insanity because of one important thing.

HE TEXT HIS POOR WIFE ... I LEFT A PRESENT FOR YOU....

    That is pure pre-mediated evil.

    Full stop.

Does that sound like the typical actions of a sane man?

I imagine that most (successful) suicides are pre-meditated.

Congrats Ducasi. It's taken 2 years, but you finally made me chuckle.

Thanks, Ducasi, for your humane effort to understand a terrible event without judgement.

For what it's worth, this event (whilst tragically dreadful) is by no means the most evil thing I can imagine one human being doing to another. Yes, it is terrible to have taken the lives of two children - but why more terrible than any other person who kills a child? Clearly this man was in profound pain and suffering himself, and used violence against himself also. If it's true that those people closest to you provoke the deepest emotions then this crime makes far more sense to me than the selfish, cold, random, gratification from the infliction of pain sought by many other murderers who, for some reason, don't get pilloried on the forum.

    don't and will never agree.
The man's thoughts have become completely twisted.
    He has become suicidally insane.

No. It's terribly sad, it's upsetting, and it's depressing. But evil? No.

Unfortunately, this sort of thing is all too common:
