I might be. Will find out towards the end of this week.
My advice Steven666 would be to be very careful if you're looking to book onto this weekender as it is all seems a bit misleading.
Whilst this is advertised as a 'Ceroc' weekender... you will find no mention of it in any of the Ceroc Escape Weekender information. As such be aware that you are not paying for the usual high quality Escape Weekender experience. You have to ask why Ceroc haven't given this event their backing. The last one only had around 120 people in attendance INCLUDING crew - if you're not good with numbers that's about a quarter of a Hammersmith freestyle! Even if it's a 50:50 gender split that's 60 dances before you start looping (I know how you love to crack off 100 or so in a night).
If you're going - I am sure you'll have loads of fun Steven. Last year the people who went seemed pretty happy. But, just make sure you are aware of what you are booking up for. If you are in doubt Steve, check the Escape Weekender site and maybe book up for an officially supported event.

Cheers Stokie. But I knew pretty much what's involved in this one (via Fletch )
It's a situation where a spare ticket (of 4 sharing) has come up or may come up.
As for 100+ a night. Those day for me are long gone!!!
Hi Steve
Just to give you the correct info;
Hafan is not an 'Escape Event' simply because it is and will always remain a small event whereby we take over a good chunk of the park rather than the whole site. It is fully supported by Ceroc HQ as a Ceroc event. If it were not then none of the 8 Teachers and 8 DJ's could work it.
The advantages being;
All the onsite facilities and entertainments are available and inc. in the price.
Half board food options are available
It is a family event - children under 12 come for free and we are looking to provide childcare service....Priceless to dancers with children
We have exclusive use of the main function room and the secondary room used for classes.
Last year we had 185 inc crew
This year, so far, 235 inc crew
I'm sure Fletch told you it was a great event last year - it's all about having the best Teachers and DJ's...and we have!
John Baker
Oxo's
Tiggerbabe
Marc Forster etc
Hope you can make it
Mike
P.s. A couple of themes;
Saturday - Beach Club Party at the Bonga Wonga Venue (Grass skirt etc!)
Sunday - 70's/Soul/Motown session around 9pm for a couple of hours
Plus The Vocal Talents of VJ
Sledge Hammer....Trust me, I know what I'm doing!
Looks like it and I'll be there too teaching a few classes. I'm really looking forward to a week-end where I don't have to be in charge and can relax! I was sorry to miss last year's as I really love smaller week-enders, so can't wait this year!
It does sound pretty similar to Blaze. Ceroc franchisees have to decide whether they want their event to be an Escape event. It is a choice we make based on many factors, for example I wouldn't want to go through the extra admin involved in Ceroc Escape event for the Beach Ballroom week-ends or for the Focus Kirriemuir week-ends.
Hope you can make it and look forward to meeting you!
Franck.
There's an A.P.P. for that!
Yes, I was thinking that too - and Blaze sounds pretty good, in fact. I'm getting bored of 1,500-strong crowds and 400-strong classes, I think I'd prefer smaller events with 200-300 people. As long as they're the right 200-300 of course
Curious - I thought "Escape" was the brand name for all Ceroc weekender events? What's the actual difference then?
Ah, you're such a stirrer
I had a fab time last year.
some of the reasons.
I took the children and all the fasilites were open, the children went off and did Ko Karting etc.
It was small, but in some ways thats whe made it work, this is not southport guy's, but its friendly (when me and Mike arn't arguing)
The DJ.s played a blinder, but they are the best in the country, they worked the room well.
There was no escape for people that don't normally dance in the blues room there was no segrigation.
Lots of sociallising
Chance to get to know people better.
All the teachers were on the floor dancing playing and helping
One of my highlights of last year was several of the teachers got all the children lined up at the side of the dance floor and they lined up the otherside of them and danced them down the floor to the bottom of the line where they were met by another teacher to dance with, it broke the ice for the children, not the children need it.
Its different, we don't allways wan't the same, if the weathers nice I see me on a rug on a pice of grass during the day music on, chatting and laughing, who's joining me ?
Steven, come on we have Nick (cornishPixi) and Josh for entertaiment so far.
ooooo and for us girlies we have 'H' (fight you for him) hehe and Frank, I might not have to que to long for Frank on this weekend.
Well, in Scotland we always have the 'Right' people... Blaze had around 400 last month and it was pretty near perfect in my opinion. All the classes were manageable and you could actually learn stuff, There were plenty of people in both rooms and you actually got a chance to dance with all the teachers and superstars without queuing or fighting, if that's what you wanted to do.
Ceroc Escape is the brand for Ceroc National (or international) events. The differences are mostly internal and to do with promotion within the network.
Franck.
There's an A.P.P. for that!
I like both, big and small but for totally different reasons. I find it very hard to compare Blaze and Southport but loved them both equally
This is one of the big differences! I can't be doing with those huge classes at Southport but at Blaze I found them very enjoyable.Blaze had around 400 last month and it was pretty near perfect in my opinion. All the classes were manageable and you could actually learn stuff,
And I liked the fact that I could almost get to dance with everyone and more than once but then again, the good thing at Southport is, there's an endless supply of new talent
Its all good!

I know its not an Escape event and I've been to a few of them, but why try to compare them, thats not the intention, its not meant to be . It is a nice friendly atmosphere, not crowded, and great weather (well it was last year).
I enjoy the Escape weekends and I enjoyed this one - and I fully intend to this time - (well actually that's guarenteed, but thats another story!!!)
Its a dance break, where we can do what we all want to what more do you want (by the way I'm not on commission!!)
there you go then, i'm there what more do you need
that says it all, you might even get a chance to dance with me
as long as its not Motown
i'm looking at the weather out side, and thinking if its like this it will be fab.

I am here when you pair have quite finished!!
Fletch, I'll try not to wear the same as you but you know what you're like trying to fish it out of me what I'm wearing before we go out .....plus it's too dangerous wearing the same thing.......we don't want JJ taking the wrong gal home do we :snigger:
JJ, if you have broken your 3rd leg then your fun is hardly guaranteed is it??
