You know your getting old when....

My gran would be a 102 today if she was still alive

My other grand parents would be 105 , 99 and 98

Aren't grand parents meant to be in there 70s and 80s ?

How old are your grand parents ??

Re: You know your getting old when....

Due to an unplanned "tradition" in my parents' families marrying late in their lives, I only had one gran living when I came into the world, and she died when I was about 8 - she was seventy something.....

My mum's parents died in their 50's or 60's in the 1940/50s!!!!

My parents are 75 and 79 years old - I've always teased them about being old enough to be my grand parents, poor them

Im not old enough yet to remember anyone clearly who would now be older then the oldest person alive on this planet

I remember quite well a old lady who lived next to my gran who would have been born cira 1896 who didnt like the way some people closed doors

She said it was a major 'event' when someone went to the seaside in a car (she lived in london) and everyone came out in the street to waive them off

My Gran was born 1900, but died about 15 years ago. By then she was great Gran to my two nephews.
My Father's dad died before he was born. No, before my dad was born. Cholera maybe?

My Grandmother would have been 111 if she'd still been alive. I don't know about the others as I'd have to look up some dates of birth.

All dead. Though I have had a few - what can I say, its complicated One Grandad died when i was 5 or so, 2 grandads I never knew at all and the other grandad and all grannys/grandmas died in the last ten years. (don't know if its the same elsewhere but generally Granny is your Dads mum and Grandma is your mums mum). I think all died in their 70s but I had a great gran who made it to 92.

My Papa diet age 75, my Gran is still alive at 84 and hanging on by a thread!! There is not much of my Gran that belongs to her, both her knees, one elbow, one shoulder and most of the bottom of her back are all fake! Four heart bypasses, one triple bypass and has recovered from ladies cancer twice!! Geee she is a stubborn one...

As for my other Grandparents on my Dads side, i have no idea what age they were when they died but it was at least 20 years ago.

Wow, that's harsh! Anne Bancroft was always attractive (apart from the cigarettes - yeuk - but she had to be a smoker to make the kiss gag work).

Hard to stand out though when the female co-lead is Katherine Ross in her prime!

You know you're getting old when...someone much older () starts discussing actresses in an old film and you know who they mean!

yeah just. Like my grandad used to say, you're only one year older a year after your birthday... so this time next year, I'll be 26 when I've completed the 26th year! I feel so much better now!
