A guick google for "smooth jive" seems to throw up smoothjivefusion mostly -- based near Bournemouth.

Although, I did find a link to a Hastings venue -- maybe someone else might recognise the dancers, I think they'd be a dead cert to win a few comp's

    SpinDr

P.S. A smooth jive lesson video is also available.

That video's just a tad misleading, isn't it?

Oh! yes please upload your Video

Even the Noddy Jive Association Video would be better than that Smooth Jive one from the South Coast. Having said that the "Manskip" move is very errrrrrrrr! different.

Anyway I must apologise to sproggs (Klub Jive) about my recent posts stateing observations about the teaching in Hastings.

My reasons for setting up my classes were personal to me, as I have travelled the country and seen many different styles of dancing and I love a totally different style of music, my decision to set up was to promote the smooth jive as a new dance venue in Hastings for beginners wishing to learn this type of dance. My website is different with video footage so people can see what were about.

As a group of dance organisations you have worked well together, promoted fantastic charity events, personally you do not like the way I dance and that is your personal opinion which I will respect.

I shall now apologise for any miswords that have upset anybody and hope that we can all be professional working in this town to promote dance and not sex shops and country views. This is old news.

I plan to remain in Hastings with my fantastic family and to teach my thing my way for the people who want it, and many do, not to feed those who have no interest in the way I dance.

I hope that one day we will be able to work together, but understand how you feel.

    Apologies Lee B

Not sure why you've got such a vendetta. There are far worse crimes being committed by cr@p instructors claiming to Viktor re-incarnated. If he's set up a club to bring new dancers into MJ .... so what? The more the merrier. They can learn to dnace smoothly / stylishly / WCS-fusion style later. If you are so keen on new dancers being taught well ... why don't you get off you ass and go through the pain of setting up a club and teaching?

If you want people to see what you are about, why does this listing for your classes link to a clip of J&T?

It's not only misleading, but if you're trying to attract newcomers to dance, I think it's counterproductive. Most newcomers might want to dance, but I suspect few really want to go up and perform in front of an audience, and they'll think that's what they have to do.

If this apology was sincere Lee's location would no longer be "Bouncy Hastings".

Of course, he'll change it now

    what qualifications?

The only way you are guaranteed a qualified teacher is to go to ceroc
All ceroc TEACHERS are qualified to teach modern jive within the ceroc style by ceroc otherwise they are not allowed to call themselves teachers or take a class in ceroc

That's like saying I'm qualified by me to do anything I like.
IMHO, unless qualifications are independant, they're fairly worthless.

    i tend to disagree
The CTA training is really rather strict i know a few people (who fit the ceroc look) who are great dancers but failed the ceroc teacher exam
