    Double Couple Dancing

I learnt a great routine at Chill Prestatyn last year itaught by Debbie Attwood. It was basically two couples dancing side by side, swapping partners then dancing together in a formation. Has anybody else done a similar routine. I would also appreciate it anybody can direct me to any site on the internet with video footage so I can extend my repetoire to this end.

It was either tag/partner swapping or awesome foursome/fourplay. There are fourplay routines on the DVD for Swish.

The awesome foursome moves are mainly choreographed and limited in the fact that both leads need to know what is happening next. I would investigate tag/partner swapping where both leads can lead independantly responding to the other leads and follows.

A blues tag was just taught at Viva Las Vegas and I presume would be on the DVD. I would check and invest if this is the case.

You could see the threads on tag and awesome foursome too.

    Hope this helps

Michaella has taught fun classes like that at freestyles. Great fun.

It has been taught at the very first Southport by some formites, LoungeLizard and Filthycute, plus filthycute's man (forgotten his forum name)

You could PM them and see if they have it on tape, and would be willing to share.

There was also a champs catagory for it in Melbourne a few years ago, there will be a DVD - www.lebop.com.au should give you the contact number of the office or you could e-mail them.

When I was on a dance holiday in Barcelona a few years back, there was about 40 couples ( I assumed they were local) who started dancing together then split of danced with others then dance in circles etc to different dances

It was amazing to watch and 10 times better then any routine Ive seen within ceroc

Clearly it must have been learnt , they were swapping the floor to find different partners but everyone knew who they were going to

The moves and Synchronisation was really good and Id say the average age of the dancer was 40+

Maybe something on you tube ?

I think Debbie taught on that dance holiday but this was unrelated and local

I think what you're referring to is a version of a dance called Rueda de Casino. It's danced in a circle and couples move from partner to partner and then complete a series of moves as called out by a caller, or as signified by a series of hand signals.

And funnily enough Debs did a fab class based on exactly this at VLV (with 'Casino' in the title of the dance it was a natural choice). It's on the DVD along with probably the best set of classes I've ever seen on a Ceroc weekender DVD (and no, I'm not on commision..)

Having done Rueda, based on Salsa, I participated in a "Ceroc Rueda" team show back in 2003 - I have it on video, but I am not clever enough to know how to put it on youtube

Last time I did freestyle double couple dancing, it started out with me and my son "tag teaming" a girl, and then another girl wanted to join in, so we kept swaping girls. Lots of fun.
