Best thing a Taxi did for me? Well it was when I started at the Central Club ... best thing those Taxis did for me was to be totaly invisible and ignore anyone they didnt want to dance with. It really made me feel totaly useless and blew anyway what little confidence I had. When I realised I could actual do this ceroc thing (long after I left London) I swore I would never treat another dancer the way those miscreants did!

Funny you say that, cos didn't we start at the same place, at - more or less - the same time? And - while I'd never say this publically if it wasn't so long ago - I've sometimes said to Marc that I didn't think they had taxi dancers there when I started ... I don't remember ever seeing any, and certainly never danced with any. When I began, I usually went on my own, and never dared ask anyone to dance. I spent most of the evening sat on my own, just having the occasional muddle of a dance with another friendly beginner. Maybe that's why I was such a slow learner!!

    Flash, Gus and Rachel...

I am so glad that the glasgow taxi dancers are so nice. i started on my own and if it wasnt for them i would have never understood how to yo-yo!!! And i would have given up. Now i can go back to the friendly environment. i also will just say the people at the Tues JJs class are so friendly and nice and made me feel really welcome

That's brilliant - good taxi dancers are worth their weight in gold! And I'm so pleased that things have changed so much for the better at my former venue, eh Trish??

    The BEST thing.....

Would that not suggest a positive thing as opposed to relating to us another of Gus's negative life experiences.....?

    (IMHO).....

Sorry ... even though the act was negative, the impact was positive No life experince is in itself negative ... its only negative if you allow it be .... no matter whether its being caught in a civil war, being mugged or being banned by Ceroc ( ) .. all these experiences can be extremely positive in terms of learning and motivating

Was for me .... gave me the impetus to set up my own club and run a lot more independant events ... now, whether its been a positive experience for the person who banned me ... thats another story (what goes around comes around? )
