We will be happy to welcome children of all ages, from noon until the awards ceremony (around 10pm) provided they are supervised by their parents at all times throughout the day.
Current expected pricing will be:
Children under 6 - free
Children 6-15 - £10
16 and over - adult price.
Please bear in mind that there will be no special facilities to accommodate children and noise levels may be uncomfortable for some younger children.
I think this could be a great day out for families and might encourage more people to attend and support the charity, therefore raising more funds

TiggerBabe / Franck : Nice to know you have a policy for under 18's attending now, but will this extend to the competition itself? It seems a shame if the catagories are only for over 18's.
Not this year, but we will monitor the demand for such a category and may include this in the future.

Well I'm only asking if all catagories are over 18's only. I'm not suggesting that you create any new catagories.
Just a thought..
Do you not need to have a special licence to run an Event involving children.. This involves extra costs and Background checks etc..
I was just pointing out that Events involving young people have requirements for safety and supervision that those for adults don't....
This is what is known as a helpful contribution...
So whats the score on tickets etc as trouble and I have been offered free accomodation and will try to make it.
Dont know if we will compete will make decision near the time.
DTS XXX XX
I can make it now and I hopefully can compete in the Seniors section
Lovely too that it doesn't clash with Brit Roc, because I quite fancy giving that a look this year.
Ooooohhhh I just love coming up to Scotland to dance

This area of law is governed by many Acts, including The Protection of Children Act (PoCA) 1999, The Children and Young Persons Act (1933), The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and The Health and Safety (Young Persons) Regulations 1997.
As i said there's a lot involved in an event where children are involved...
Probably going off thread here but you've got me wondering now, do dance teachers need to have CRB checks undertaken if they are taking children's dance lessons? I know that everyone who comes into contact with children both professionally and via other hobbie groups e.g Brownie , Scouts , judo etc are required to do so.
